About

Introduction:

Vessup Bay is located off Redhook Bay on the far eastern side of the island of St. Thomas. Vessup Bay is a 5-mile journey around Cabrita Point from Benner Bay/The Lagoon to the east, and 4 miles to the west of Contant Harbor on St. John Island.

Inside Vessup Bay are a number of facilities including many marinas with transient facilities. Anchoring is better suited to Muller Bay to the southeast, as the private moorings and constant traffic in Vessup Bay make anchoring difficult and uncomfortable. Muller Bay is located to the left (south) in the image above, while Vessup Bay is situated farther west and has the series of marinas on its north (right) side.

Navigating the Water:

Vessup and Muller bays are reached via an approach from the west through Redhook Bay. From Redhook Bay, simply set a course for the center of Vessup Bay. Muller Bay will be to port on entry, and if you need marina facilities, you will head farther in to Vessup Bay to the west. The channel is easily spotted and marked with good depths.
