Designed and built for fishermen, by fishermen! Blue Marlin Cove has incredible offshore fishing within 1 mile of its marina. Year-round fishing for great catches such as: Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Yellow and Blue Fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and one of the Bahamas’ favorites, Wahoo!
We apologize for the inconvenience, but our resort is currently not animal friendly, with the exception of service animals. Service animals must provide documentation.
The staff were responsive and friendly, took great care of us. Entry canal is wide and deep enough. The docks are in need of repair with lots of nails sticking out.
Nick and Matt took such great care of us during our visit. The marina facilities are very nice and the marina is easy to get into from the Strait of FL.
When we arrived, we thought that we had made a huge mistake booking at Blue Marlin. No response to radio calls, no showers, no restaurant, far from everything, infrequent fueling from diesel tank. But then, the sunset was beautiful from the beachside tables, Juan Carlos, the manager was great, the few other customers were lovely. The night was super quiet in spite of it being New Year’s Eve. The very best part is that there was no noise whatsoever of waves slapping the boat. It was the best night’s sleep in 2.5 weeks! The best protected marina in the Bahamas that we have found. No mega yachts here. They don’t accept over 65 foot boats. Fishing boat haven.
Marina does have potential. Staff was great. Wifi sporadic and we ran out of water. I think the water was off resort wide. Dredging is occurring to the entrance channel which makes it very narrow and was only 6' deep
Nice and clean resort
The people could not have been nicer. Gus and his team did a great job making us feel at home.
Zero stars actually. Worst marina experience of my life. I was pretty seasick crossing from North Bimini and Blue Marlin Cove was the closest place we could reach safely. I made a reservation online and we got in just after dark to discover the marina closed and no one there. Navigated in the dark and tied up to rest while we figured out where to go next. My father was shocked pretty badly when he touched a shore power box that must not be grounded--we weren't even trying to get power, he was just touching it for balance. We were yelled at to leave because we were trespassing and warned the police would be called. I was charged $167 to my card for the privilege of being threatened and shocked. If the marina is closed, they probably shouldn't be accepting reservations and I certainly shouldn't be charged for the experience.
Beautiful grounds, top notch, attentive staff, protected harbor, fixed docks,, bbqs, cleaning station, wifi, pool and jacuzzi round out the amenities here. Expert line handling getting our 50 foot cruising sailboat docked. Service above and beyond expectations.
We've stayed at Blue Marlin many times over the years. Our last trip was in July 2022. Our next planned trip is Memorial Day weekend 2023 with a quicky or two thrown in there for Wahoo and or Tuna Fishing. We have always enjoyed Blue Marlin. Always friendly staff, rooms are spotless clean and the facilities are great. They have a great fish cleaning station with plenty of room, huge pool and poolside bar. The food at the restuarant is top of the line. I look forward to their expansion. Never had a problem with thefts or anything come up missing. Highly recommended stay at Blue Marlin.
Had three rods stolen off my boat during the weekend of August 6th. I have pictures and video showing my rods on the boat during the afternoon on August 7th. Woke up and went to my boat August 8th and three of them were gone. I didn't notice they were gone until I had already left BMC. I tried calling right when I noticed, but as usual nobody answered. I reported this to the marina GM the next day and never heard back. I called a week later to follow up and finally got a hold of someone, he seemed to care less and told me the third party who monitors the cameras didn't see anything. Of course they didn't steal heavy electric reels, they stole lightweight setups that could be easily carried.
We have been two times this year and love it!! Great resort and the staff is very friendly. We definitely will be coming back to visit!! Highly recommend for couples and family’s. Thanks for a great experience!
Best resort in Freeport! The marina is very easy to use and is located in a very convenient location! The resort/hotel rooms and restaurant are FIVE STAR! The rooms are big and clean and feel very homey. The pool is super clean and layed out perfectly. Blue marlin is very layed back, comfortable, organized, clean and all round great. The staff is really nice. The manager is ontop of everything and is probably the most helpful man in the world ! Blue marlin Is a must stay !!
Stayed for Labor Day Weekend. Great location, nice marina has dock lines and water hoses on site. We stayed in a poolside suite. Everything was great. Nicely equipped kitchen, 2 full bedrooms and private baths, side by side fridge, and a washer dryer. Staff was super helpful from getting ice to fuel to helping tie up. Rooms were great and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. No better place to stay in West End
The marina itself is very nice. The rooms are very dirty. Food stuck to cabinets, hair and dirt on floors. Utensils and dishes sticky. Showers with mold and mildew. For the price I would expect it to be clean!! Gross
We docked here the first opening weekend of Covid-19. Despite there being plenty of room, we were asked to move our boat. Additionally, you can not contact anyone on the property because everything is done through their website or this website, which makes things very frustrating. When we did finally get a slip, we were met with an overwhelming barrage of directions, questions and tasks. Arriving by boat has its own challenges, so this in-your-face style of check-in caused us to forget several items on our boat that we intended to take with us to our lodging. I understand Covid, but this was ridiculous.
Jim, the manage, made it so worthwhile. Despite the only restaurant at the hotel/marina had recently closed, Jim offered us free rides to and from another restaurant which as promised was outstanding.
Great staff good food! Mathew and Alex made docking a breeze and the manager Jim made us feel at home!
Blue Marlin Cove is a great time. Close to Palm Beach. Excellent fishing and diving right off the island. Most economical stay in the Bahamas. Nightly rates include dinner, drinks, slip and ice. Not stuffy like Old Bahama.
