Reserve your Boat Slip now for 2027!
Star Harbor is a small, beautiful, 30-unit Homeowners Association located one mile east of Tahoe City. The property offers excellent marine facilities, including boat slips, buoys, and long-term side ties. HOA members and renters may use these facilities when space is available.
A limited number of Long-Term Side Ties are available to the public from May 15 through October 15. Reservations are available now for the 2027 season.
Boat slips are available within a five-minute walk of your unit.
Buoys are located directly in front of Star Harbor. HOA members and guests using a buoy must provide their own access, such as a paddleboard or dinghy, and bring your own mooring line.
Tahoe City Sailing Foundation (TCSF) members. Several buoys are available for TCSF. Reservations for the 2027 sailing season are now available.
Required Documentation: Before bringing your vessel to Star Harbor, HOA members and renters must provide photos of the following documents:
- Photo of your boat
- Photo of your insurance policy
- Photo of current boat registration
- Photo of a valid California Boater License
- Rental agreement, if applicable
Insurance Requirements
- - Watercraft liability coverage: $500,000
- - Statutory fuel-spill coverage: $500,000
- - For TCSF members we have a contract on file

To request use of a buoy, slip, or side tie, submit a General Inquiry on the right side of this web page. Before submitting your inquiry, please have photos of your boat, insurance, boat registration, rental agreement, and California Boater License ready.
