The docks were clean and recently repaired. Electricity worked fine, with one pedestal out, but it was being serviced. The bathrooms are a little far, but clean. The grounds are spectacular, and the slips come with passes to Palm Beach--a great place for kids and adults to spend time on a sandy beach, a lazy river, or a kids' splash pad. Great live music on the weekends. Schlitterbahn water park is next door.
Lots to see and do without ever leaving the property. But if you do leave the property, there is a Galveston Island Trolley stop at the hotel that will connect you to places all around the island. I believe the fee is one dollar per person. The hotel offers complimentary transportation from the marina to the hotel or other sites on the hotel grounds. They will also deliver free ice to your boat. The hotel front desk was very responsive to our requests.
We have been coming to the Moody Gardens Marina for years. We were impressed this year with the improved state of the dock and slips, and the excellent service from all hotel staff. I don't know what changed, but it is definitely for the better. We will be back again very soon.
