Nettles Island Marina is located in a gated resort community close to both Jensen Beach and Stuart. The Marina is privately owned and operated. It has a friendly casual atmosphere. Visiting yachtsmen are offered many amenities. Sit and relax under the Tiki Hut attached to The Saunder's Landing Restaurant, enjoy the well-stocked grocery/general store with bakery, large selection of wines, marine supplies, Fax Service, UPS Delivery, hardware, live bait and fishing supplies. We also have a laundry, hair salon, resort wear boutique on site. Ocean swimming and Hotels are across A1A from Nettles Island Marina. All stores and services located on dockside.
Under construction, friendly owners with a great development plan and willing to work with you. Planning to return next summer
We have been returning to the Marina for a few years now. Everyone here is amazing. We love coming back and will continue to do so as long as they allow us to. If you are looking for a place to vacation, this is the place. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
No staff on site. No security. Terrible facilities
We have stayed at Nettles Island Marina several times in the last 3 years. It is a unique location and has an old Florida feel. What we liked: 1) Our slip neighbor Sean Geraghty, a marina resident and an unofficial representative of the marina (or should be). Sean is a knowledgeable and skilled boat craftsman/ mechanic who helped us identify and rectify our failing alternator. Sean was fairly priced and worked efficiently. 2) The Sauders Landing Restaurant at the marina. Very good, fresh seafood at the dock. You don't need leave the site to treat your crew to a fine meal. The restaurant was busy each time we visited Nettles Island. 3) The location is walkable to the beach and other beach front restaurants. 4) On site shop for sandwiches, groceries, beer and ice. 5) Decent showers, good laundry What needs improvements? No onsite employees - Management needs to fix this if they want to grow. -You catch your own lines when you dock. - There are limited slips available, possibly due to past hurricane damage. - Poor wayfinding to the approach off the intercoastal. There are poorly maintained channel markers. Needs updating. We found 7-9 feet of water. SUMMARY Nettles Island Marina is a unique, pleasantly off beat, Bohemian marina with a friendly resident boating community, with excellent dockside dining and good basic provisioning on the premises. The owners would do well to have a representative on site. SV Pangur Ban
We stayed there thru end of November. Has everything you need right there and it is a short walk to the nice sandy beach. We stayed on our return trip and everything was great. Sean was a great help with anything we needed.
Will not stay here again. Place is really run down. Website is misleading. For the price of a slip you expecting a 5 star experience, unfortunately it was an expensive one star experience.
Confusing to enter because the entry channel marks are physically missing and not on Garmin either. Owner's explanation not very clear either. There is no one to help tie up other than other boaters . They were terrific but should not be relied upon to carry out a marina task. Pass this one by.
Great Marina. Everything you need is here on site. Restaurant, Grocery and more..
Nettles Island is a nice place and should be getting even nicer - I hope prices don't go up. They have 1 bathhouse for men and 1 for women. When marina is completely renovated, I hope this changes and gives a bit more privacy. Gilbert is young dockhand who was so nice and helpful. Restaurant was closed when we were there, but there is a grocery store at the marina with anything u need including deli and ice cream. Wish we had stayed longer to see more of the town.
Nettles Island Marina is great. My boat broke down in evening and needed to be towed to nearest avaiable marina. Nettles Island Marina was the only marina that responded to our calls for a berth for the night. Called in evening, they were very welcoming, friendly and supportive. Nice location, finishing new seawall. Highly recommend.
The marina repair is underway. The restaurant was not open, and the facilities were not the greatest. Many of the docks are being repaired from previous storm damage. It should be great in about six months from August 28, 2023.
Great Location Newer docks under construction family friendly
Everything went as planned. Gilbert the Dockmaster was extremely kind and helpful. We look forward to our return.
We had a great experience, I would highly recommend it.
Had a great time there. Only a small portion of the marina is currently in use due to hurricane damage, but they are repairing the docks and there are a lot of local amenities and the beach is just across the road from the island.
Enjoyed the time at the Nettles Island Marina. The marina has new owners that are intending on rebuilding the marina to an upscale and modern marina. They have been working hard and I look forward to returning when it’s all done.
staff is great, restaurant and c-store with deli on site. would stay here again,
Our stay was great! Although the Marina was in a state of repair after major damage in a huge storm the service was great. Owners were great and were very accommodating for our 2 months that we used it as a base while we cruised around the area. They are being rebuilt and will be amazing once done.
The marina is under repair, hence the 3 stars. No pumpout and docks are pretty beaten up. That said, the location is great. We watched a launch from Cape Canaveral, walked to a great restaurant in the beach, and were right next to a great little restaurant and tiny general store. We were wishing we had another day to rent a golf cart to explore the island. The bathrooms and showers were clean and super convenient to our slip. Watch the charts closely coming in. We had no trouble and had plenty of depth. The G1 marker was missing, but we just made allowances for that. There were no employees there (at 4:00pm), but we had other boaters to help us dock.
Marina was badly damaged in the last hurricane. Only about 10 docks useable. No power available when we were there. Restaurant on site seem to be popular with the locals. Dock master was helpful. Nice beach within walking distance.
The site information has not been updated since 90% of the docks were destroyed. The amenities advertised appeared more extensive than actual. All staff personnel were excellent especially Tyler.
Dockmaster Tyler was incredibly helpful. Limited docks available because of hurricane damage, but the ones that survived are in nice shape. Good facility overall- we’d go back.
The marina suffered a lot of hurricane damage. There is only one dock available and it has slips with electricity and water, but no pump outs. Parallel to the dock is a building with toilets, showers and laundry, and also a well-stocked store and a good restaurant. Dock master, Tyler, is doing as well as possible under the circumstances.
Pretty busted up from Hurricane Nicole. Staff was friendly and helpful but not worth $3.00 a foot per night.
The docks are old and the storm reeked havoc on some of them. They took us and put us on a dock that survived. Glad to have the tie up.
Best marina on this side of the Mississippi. Had a fantastic time while we stayed there. Amenities were great! New owners were very hospitable. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at the marina from middle of April for a month due to various repairs that were needed. We found the Dockmaster Thomas to be extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. He assisted in getting a great mechanic to help with our hydraulics and was consistently helpful in our never ending changes to departure dates. The docks are a little rough in places but proved to be very secure during the storms we went through. The onsite restaurant is great, and the shop very well stocked with a huge variety of stuff from hardware, alcohol and food. We had no issues with depth of water. Easy access to Beach but if you want to travel further afield a car will be required for the bigger stores.
Very helpful Dockmaster. He called to check our ETA and was on the dock for our arrival. Gave great instructions for arrival to the marina. A quaint area in south Florida.
Helpful staff. Did not use facilities due to Covid so am not able to review these.
Best marina in south Florida. Allow live aboard, great staff, cool community of boaters, and you can work on your boat here. Grocery store is well stocked with a small deli and great sandwiches.
Great bunch of people, very friendly and accommodating. Made it in with our 6’ draft about 2 hours before high tide- saw no less than a foot on the way in. Nice family run business, restaurant on site, grocery store with just about everything, nice captains area to hang out and chat with the locals. Pet friendly.
