Report Review

My name is Nicolo “Nic” Dmelio. On Saturday morning, I was in the process of transporting my 33’ searay. from North Carolina to Pittsburgh. The rain storm and heavy load were a serious concern. Putting me and others in harms way. I had no choice but to pull off the main highway to find safety. I had made several wrong turns, calling over 7 local marinas asking for help, asking at the very least to park my boat till I came up with a new plan and had help. I was given the Washington Sailing Marinas number by Richard Turner, a local reputable transport operator. I have been boating, for over 20 years. I have met people from marinas from the keys, all the way up the east coast. And I have never, witnessed such a helpful group of people that you have employed there. The Sailing Marina staff literally came to my aid, helped me get out of a blocked one way road in the pouring rain. Witt and Howell assisted me and turned a nightmare into what good folks used to do, help, be kind and compassionate. And more importantly, they truly saved that boat, because I was so aggravated I was going to just leave it. I don’t know what more I can do to show my appreciation. But I am asking for you to please recognize their aid to me, and look at it as I am, nothing short of heroism. I was stranded, in pouring rain, no way out of a street by myself, no one around to help me. But the great people at the Sailing marina did not hesitate, Howell came right out, helping me, escorting me to the marina. This type of hospitality is unheard of anymore. The actions that this group showed, was compassion, care, dedication, determination and still maintained the daily operations of the marina.
