Staff at Pope's Island Marina is accommodating and tries their best to help boaters with issues that come up. The grounds are quite "homey" and welcoming. Their central location and abundance of services nearby make this stop a logistical necessity if spending any length of time in the Buzzards Bay Area. Parking is easy for crew changes and there are nearby restaurants, not to mention the Whaling Museum. If that were not enough, you get a front-row seat to one of the country's busiest fishing ports! I’ve been coming for several years, and some of the docks are in disrepair although it appears that efforts are underway to address this. You’ll need your own lines to attach to the mooring balls. They have an eye at the end of a post that extends about 5 feet above the mooring ball, not quite high enough to reach easily from a catamaran with a 7’ freeboard!
