We were docked on the fixed dock on the outside. We had relatively strong winds and at times were pinned against the pilings and at other times we were blown off the dock The pilings do have fairly substantial rub protection, which was very helpful, but still made for some exciting moments with New Bedford's 4.5-foot tides.
The marina was well maintained although we did not make use of its facilities. New Bedford was a nice place to visit, and the Whaling Museum is not to be missed.
