#3Our one night stay at the Morehead City Trans Docks would have been better if the strong SSW wind hadn't turned the water into a washing machine. When we could not stand the constant rock and roll any longer at 3am, we were fortunate to find that the empty slip next to ours hadn't been claimed so we turned our boat 90 degrees to the west and tied up using both slips, numbers 3 and 4. This allowed our houseboat to rock fore and aft instead of side to side and we were able to finally get some rest. We had reserved our slip for two nights but as the wind forecast called for more of the same, as soon as it was daylight, we went back to Radio Island and put the boat back on her trailer and left for Fayetteville.
If the wind had been from any other direction, from WNW to SSE, our rating would be 5 stars for the facility and location.
