Morningstar Marinas | Golden Isles

Always a simple and pleasant overnight stop. Almost always hit it going down or up the ditch. Or tucking in after or before an ocean run. Has a simple, usually-large along side tie up. Lots of nice restaraunts nearby. Good uber service.

We loved our phone call checking on us about an hour out. We were running late. Arrived as the sun settled and were ably assisted by the dock master. She was most helpful. Thanks to all at Golden Isles, SV Fin.

To Marina and slip and docks were great. Coffee shop fabulous. It would’ve been nice to know that the restaurant is closed down and is under construction.

Wonderful as always. We were surprised that Coastal Kitchen is closed. Apparently they suffered water damage and are rebuilding.

Wow! The on duty Dockmaster, Allie, is amazing! She greeted us upon arriving for our slip assignment and handled multiple tasks while helping us fuel and pump out. She runs circles around other staff at comparable marinas and surely is a huge asset to your operation. Thank you Allie for the outstanding service and we wish you all the best! Exempluray service from very competent dock girl. Every marina should have a person like Alley.

All of us were very impressed with Allie , the Dockmaster . She was in at 7am the day we left and when we came in the night before , we saw her after 7pm . Everytime we saw her she was working . One of my crew ,.who was a CFO before he retired said “ no matter what the job , this is the person you want to hire to get a job done well . “. She is very conscientious. You have an excellent Ambassador for your business . She is the type of person , that will expand your business .

Bathrooms and showers closed. They had portable bathrooms. No laundry. Restaurant closed. (Coastal kitchen). Things happen I understand but they didn’t advertise that they didn’t have these things and did not give a price break of any kind. We had a package delivered by FedEx from Lululemon that the front desk said was not delivered and never found. Brandon working the docks was fantastic. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

One word...thankful! We had an unexpected engine malfunction that required us to be towed back into Brunswick. As the marina I had just departed that morning already filled my slip, I was thankful for Morningstar to take us in on short notice. Not only that, the deck staff were super nice, professional and eager to assist. The marina even offered to allow us to stay a week on their transient dock knowing this is peak season — some big expensive boats coming in and out of there and we're filling a portion that could have easily gone to another. Very thankful for the team at Morningstar in Brunswick.

We got stuck here during Helene and Milton but stayed perfectly safe. The staff members are excellent! I highly recommend this marina. Thank you, Brandon!

Everything great except the restaurant was closed.

Brandon was professional and courteous. The docks are in great shape. New pedestals with water and pump out right there! Beautiful town of St Simons just a bike ride away over the bridge.

Great location and facilities. Professional staff. Include a visit to Jekyll and a meal at Southern Soul BBQ to your visit!

Great setup, everything we needed.

No one responded on 16 or 68. We used our cell phone but no one responded Until we were in the Harbor. We were going to the fuel dock to find there was no fuel available.. The excuses were that they had left there VHF on another boat and couldn’t find it and were should have been notified by Dockwa of the fuel! Not! The Dock master this morning was terrific.

Great location, easy transient slip and help when docking. Pump out at the slip 👍 Onsite restaurant was good enough albeit a bit loud inside when busy. Also a nice coffee shop and a pool. Onsite dolphin tours. Easy for Uber to find.

The facility was clean and stays very helpful Allie the dock hand was VERY helpful and very experienced getting us secured She was also thoughtful on where to tie us off We will definitely stay again

Dock Master (Jeff) was great! Coastal Cafe experience was fun. No convenient place to safely walk a dog.

We sailed up to Golden Isle Marnia. The Coastal Kitchen is amazing! I recommend you schedule reservations as they can get quite busy. The dock hands Parker was helpful when we struggled with the pump out. We ultimately did a partial pump out and then once back in Fernandina Beach cleaned it out completely. The dock staff helped us try again on Sunday morning before leaving. While we were docked on the outside transient dock the wake was not disturbing as the water goes flat during the night. Had some peaceful two days. The docks are in good shape and have the fuel, water and the pump out right on the dock.

Hats off to Mary, who seemed to be handling all us transients by herself. She was professional, knowledgeable, hard working, and big on customer service! We also enjoyed the Coastal Kitchen and the Cafe next door. Yes, the restroom/showers need some love.

Easy docking and fueling.

Piers are in great shape. Staff was super helpful and friendly; even accommodate an additional day for us (weather). Onsite restaurant was also really good. It is a little distance from town but a flat, pleasant bike ride. However, the bathrooms need some work. Very dated and during our visit needed a deep clean.

Dock hands were terrific . I wish fuel was faster.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The dock hands do a great job. The pool was nice, the restaurant on site is very good and the grills were clean and had plenty of propane. The village is a short Uber away and has so much to see and do. I highly recommend this stop.

I arrived 12 minutes after closing, singlehandling the boat in wind and current. Fortunately a fellow boater volunteered to help me dock. The first shower I went to use had a broken handle and so didn’t work. When I went to leave mid-morning two employees did not know where the on schedule dock person was and they didn’t help off the dock. Totally not impressed with customer service

Easy in and out with excellent communication and service as always. Coastal Kitchen for dinner is an added bonus. Thanks!

What a wonderful stay. Transient dock has fuel and pump out right at your slip. Courtesy bicycles were the best i have ever ridden. Staff is very helpful. Perfect stay for a looper

Staff was very professional.

Being a delivery captain this is always a great stay. Super friendly staff. This trip being pleasure not business we’ve got a Ausie doodle with us. Dockwa stated there was a bark park and there’s not. You have to leave the marina to an area next to a highway. Now obviously Oakley didn’t care so is it really that bad? You can be the judge. Will absolutely stay here again.

Dockmaster Mary is terrific. Coastal Kitchen restaurant onsite is very good. Disappointed to learn upon arrival that Morningstar no longer provides a courtesy car (but website still says it does).

Great stop on our great loop trip. The dockmaster was phenomenal. She was great on the radio and really handled the rush of boats that came in. She needs a raise.

Staff was courteous and were quick to assist tie off. Restaurant on site was one of best burgers I’ve had in a while, and coffee shop was delicious as well as nice staff. Will stay again when in the area.

It was alright but not premium. We’ve had better service at many less expensive marinas. The dock hand helped with tying the lines but left one of the ends dragging in the water as we docked and never lifted it out before leaving. He offered no information on the island or facilities but did answer questions. We enjoyed the cafe onsite but the larger restaurant was closed. It would’ve been nice if this had been mentioned on the Dockwa listing. When we asked for a pump out on our second day we were advised it was broken and they were awaiting a hose to repair it. Again, it would’ve been nice to be notified of this earlier, so we could plan accordingly The bathrooms were clean, but the showers seemed to be missing most of their clothes hooks. The laundry room looked like the floors have not been cleaned in some days and needed more machines based on the demand we saw. They mention a dog park but we saw only a thin strip of grass at the side of the driveway. Overall, the Marina wasn’t terrible, just not up to the standard we expected.

All good as always. Restaurant was closed for off season so we didn’t get to enjoy the wonderful dinner but the marina is a good (and warm) place for a night in the 20s. Will come again when a little warmer and restaurant is open.

We’ll run facility and nice location. Only suggestion is loaner car time limit is too short at 1 hour. By the time you allow for getting to/from and getting a cart, even with the grocery only 5 minutes away you only can shop for 30 minutes. Therefore not a good spot for provisioning.

Dock hand had little knowledge in lines during tide while docking.

Easy access off the ICW. Staff was great and very helpful. Not much to do there and a bit challenging to walk dogs. There is not much in the way of green space. The long trailer parking road was littered with trash & dog poop we only needed one night so it worked for us.

Nice Marina, did not use facilities apart fromaundry which was fine and a good price. It was great to have a loaner vehicle to top up supplies. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant on site was good just wish they put prices on menu ( too many marked MKT).

Mary the dock master is the most efficient and friendly person at marinas as we have seen in a long time. She handled 5 boats coming in late afternoon and her instructions for dock assignments were precise and clear. She helped with all lines and got ready to fuel 3 of the boats. Quite remarkable! Great experience and we will return

Great, as with the other 2 morningstar marina previously stayed. Berth master was helpful and friendly. Large liner dock (and fuel dock) that is clean and has good cleats. Easy access and docking, there is some tide but it is not bad. Coastal kitchen and coffee as both great. Would stay again

Great marina - floating docks, clean, great deckhands. Good spot to easily jump into to avoid weather overnight. The only reason not 4 star is the bathroom facilities need a major upgrade. We were looking forward to a nice shower on land after 4 days offshore.

The staff responded when we called in on VHF, met us at the dock receiving our line S and tied up Blue. heron quickly and then got our power hooked up. We enjoyed an excellent meal at the on site Coastal Kitchen. Only drawback is the long walk to take our dig for a walk.

Great staff friendly and knowledgeable

Greeted by a great dockhand that was juggling multiple boats. Nice location and the floating docks were in great condition. We had an issue with our off shore power (that started at the previous stop) and the marina recommended a local marine service (Navcom) that fixed the issue in two hours (and he had to get a part). About a $10 Uber to the pier area where there are many shops and restaurants (recommend Half Shell). Coastal Coffee at the marina is a hidden gem. Excellent coffee/latte and the pastries looked amazing. We ordered their chicken salad to go for lunch. Great stop.

I’m not one to leave reviews, but we had a great stay here! It started with Mary going above and beyond to help get us tied up on the dock in some challenging conditions. Thanks Mary! Facilities were nice, clean, and full of friendly folks. We look forward to visiting again!

Nice pool , great power, helpful dock assistance

Only 2 carts at site. both not available. Minimal reluctant assistance from dock staff for fueling and docking and departing.

Marina is nicely located off the ICW near 247 and 249. Provides free fast WIFI, dockside pumpout and has an onsite restaurant. Grocery stores are located with a couple of miles via the courtesy car. West Marine is about 5 miles onto the mainland in Brunswick. Marina staff is friendly and always looking to help including helping with boat lines for docking/undocking. I highly recommend the marina in your north/south trip.

No answer on phone. Left messages(2).....no return calls. I guess business is good. They don't get mine.
