Conveniently located directly off the Intracoastal waterway just past mile marker 472 on the Stono River in Charleston, South Carolina, St. Johns Yacht Harbor is a newly renovated marina community with unrivaled amenities.
St. Johns offers a fully provisioned harbor store, yacht club quality shower and laundry facilities, a spacious waterfront saltwater swimming pool with travertine deck. The fuel dock offers diesel and non-ethanol gasoline. You’ll be sure to see the most beautiful sunrises in the Lowcountry during your stay!
We were seeking a safe harbor from predicted winds and they provided that and more! Really nice dock hands and great docks. We needed to extend our stay one more night and they were very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and hopefully at our next visit, we will be able to use the pool!
By far the best marina we have stopped at on our travels. The Dockmaster and the entire staff were accomodating and wonderful to work with. The facilities are second to none. Close proximity to Charleston without all of the hub-bub, we had a relaxing stay and enjoyed touring the area. Highly recommend this wonderful marina with so many amenities!
Once again, we have enjoyed our stay at St. Johns Yacht Harbor. The staff is awesome, the modern bathrooms and showers are cleaned thoroughly every day, and the docks are in great condition. The current here is rather strong, so they recommend coming into a slip at slack tide (unless you are docking on the T-head). They communicate well about this and are very helpful with docking. They also have a courtesy car that is free to use for a couple of hours. The friendly dockhands will bring the pump out boat right to your slip (at no charge) and are willing to help with just about anything you might need. Additionally, they offer monthly rates! Thank you!!!!!
Friendly, Clean, The courtesy car was very much appreciated. Pool great, Docks super. We WILL be back! Possibly the best!
The staff here are amazing. They worked hard to accommodate our request for a T- head for an overnight stay. Killer courtesy car.
Marina staff is fantastic. Helpful, communicative & know the answers to any questions. They are ready to assist. Only problem was my dock's shore power was 130 volts which caused some tripping issues on my boat. Tried 3 pedestals & all were high
We planned to stay here a few months, and ended up staying 8 months, so much to do and see in Charleston and the area. Great marina and staff, everything is kept clean and orderly. Only marina I've been to that has a free curtesy car. Car parking was limited, but they were building a new lot as we left. After checking out every marina in Charleston, St John's is the only one we will stay at.
Excellent dock hands. Facilities in very good condition. The only negative is there is not a No Wake Zone in the river. Mostly small boat traffic but occasionaly a big power boat goes by with no respect for the marina.
Nice marina. Great communication from Adam who called us back to make sure we knew exactly where they were located and gave clear instructions on fueling and where we would tie for the night. He was great helping with lines and getting us settled, and stayed open late to allow us to fuel before docking. We got in late so didn’t get a chance to enjoy the marina but the heads were clean and everything looked very nice.
Updated dock and store look great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The staff goes out of their way to be of assistance. The facilities are spotless and consistently maintained. An exceedingly marina.
This marina is one of the best we have stayed at from Charleston to the Florida Keys. The staff is experienced and easy to work with. The facility is in great condition and there are multiple retail opportunities close by. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful 3 night stay! Top notch facilities ( laundry , bathrooms and docks ) , very friendly and helpful staff that run an excellent marina. The courtesy car enabled provisioning at Whole Foods and Harris Teeter’s just 10 minutes away. 100% recommended!
Very accommodating, good docking help, clean facility, wonderful washrooms/showers. A nice Courtesy car, pool, grills, recycling can. Not downtown Charleston but a great stop to time Elliot’s Cut into Charleston Harbor!
One of the best marinas on the ICW Friendly staff, a loaner car, nice place to be.
The staffing and local patronage here are excellent Very helpful and the facilities were spotless I kept returning here while exploring Charleston, the Stono River and Kiawah I will return again on my way down the ICW next year
I stayed for three nights. From the docking through departure the marina was top notch. There were two dock hands and the manager present to take the lines. The facilities were new, large enough to handle the volume, and kept clean. They have a loaner car which is very helpful given the marina’s location to all of the stores. Very impressed.
Excellent Marina. Great staff. Very professional.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Best facilities we have seen in a long time. Definitely worth to stay there.
This is a return stay for Hail Mary. We stop here on each side of our North/South transit. Facility is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful.
Awesome treasure in Charleston !
SJYH has friendly and helpful staff; clean and well-equiped shower and laundry facilities; and easy accommodation for our 6' draft boat. We had a great experience.
Very friendly staff, nice showers and marina.
The Marina is a great stop on many occasions we made it our go to marina. The crew was very appreciative and attentive. When in passing in the waterway we will always stay there.
Great organization, lovely location, really nice clean rest rooms, incredibly friendly employees. I cannot say enough good things. Best we have stayed in. Adam, Stan, Grady, Steven and many more outstanding employees. Will be returning. Time the currents, can be strong at times.
one of the best one night stays. Laundry, showers and a pet area. Thank you 😊
The staff is friendly and very helpful. Courtesy car is real.
Great hospitality from the staff.! LOTS of current makes getting in and out a bit tricky. Very nice showers and heads. No on-site restaurant or bar and nothing with walking distance
Last minute booking and Daniel was wonderful. Met at the dock us in and our one night was great!
Professional Marina, great bathrooms, courtesy car has only 6,000 miles!
Overall good but not great. We were placed between two boats almost twice as big as us so we couldn’t even see the sky. There were also a number of poorly maintained boats on our dock which were bordering being eye sores. The courtesy car was very good and the laundry and restroom were good however overall for the price per foot charged we expected more. We probably will not go back.
The crew at st Johns yacht harbor could not be more on point! They were very helpful and made special accommodations to help us out when we had mechanical failure. The pool is immaculate and the showers are like a massage. I would go back any time I had the chance. Thanks st Johns yacht harbor!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at St.Johns. Adam was incredibly helpful and very clear with his directions making our arrival really easy. He was also there to catch our lines when we arrived. We used the courtesy car for provisioning and once again Adam pointed us in the right direction to the stores. The facilities are excellent, very clean with individual showers. The marina also has a pool, bbq and fire pit it looks like the owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable.
Always a pleasure. Steve and all the dockhands are very nice and helpful.
We had our boat there for a month, very nice facilities, great location, great people.
I always try to give everyone a fair review. With that said everyone, there is very nice and professional. The marina is clean and they have a nice little store with great washers and dryers. However, we requested a T head because of the current and we were told that were no T heads available, upon arrival at Slack tide, they tried to put us in a slip that we could barely fit in. After attempting dockage in that slip, they did put us on an available T head. Beware of the current it is strong.
Wonderful marina. Helpful staff, excellent restrooms/showers, loaner car, pool, laundry!!!!! GREAT spot.
One of my favorite stops along the East Coast. Great prople, great facilities, great location!
They go above and beyond. The marina contacted us to see what time we were arriving to be able to choose a slip based on current conditions and then we were met by a top-notch dock crew. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
One of the best on the east coast. Staff cares and the marina is top notch
The best! First visit to the Charleston area and contacted St Johns Yacht Harbor for an overnight stay. Reservation process easy, entire staff very friendly and efficient. Had an unexpected breaker issue onboard but the staff went over and above to help us solve the problem. Cleanest shower house I’ve seen on our trips on the ICW between now Charleston and Ft Moers Beach! Don’t miss staying here!!!
Very nice marina with a friendly staff and well maintained facilities. They have both floating and lift docks, as well as a pool, grill, and fire pit for slip-holders and transients to use. They also have a courtesy car for transient guests. We really enjoyed kayaking through the marsh passage (at high-mid tide) and kayaking/dinghying up the ICW a short ways to a public launch where you could tie up and walk to Earthfare for groceries. We also enjoyed kayaking/dinghying over to the local waterfront restaurant a short distance from the marina. We also enjoyed taking the dinghy or bicycles downtown or over to Mount Pleasant to visit friends at the resort or take a tour of the USS York Aircraft Hanger & Museum. Please keep in mind the currents are very strong on the Stono River and it is highly recommended to wait to dock until slack-tide to dock the larger vessels. We didn't have any issues docking the kayaks or dinghies, but if you're not aware of the strong (6 knots) of current during your approach you will be caught off-guard. You will typically see several vessels anchored just outside the marina that are waiting for slack-tide to dock and it is highly recommended that you follow suit and wait with them.
Recently booked a one night slip that turned into over a week due to engine issues. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating; help with local mechanics, use of courtesy car and overall easy to work with. We would definitely return if we pass that way again.
