I’d recommend Hartge Yacht Harbor to anyone looking for an overnight mooring or slip in the West River/Galesville. We reserved a mooring ball for two nights in May. They were wonderful to work with — welcoming, kind and accommodating. Their moorings were well protected and their grounds beautiful. While we didn’t use them, there were grills, bikes, kayaks and SUPs for guest use.
A note on the balls: The ball did not have a floating pennant like we were used to seeing, just a hook eye on the top of the ball. Once we snagged the eye with our boat hook, the eye lifted on a line through the ball.
