Great staff who will work with you for what you need. The transient slips are easy to get into and out of. Small laundry facility. The surrounding area of Gulfport is small but always fun - there's a floating boat/dinghy dock that's free for 4 hours at a time; the casino isn't for gambling but more of a community event center; great brunch spots and great local restaurant/bars. The mooring field is a bit out of the way and they're still working out a dinghy dock if you choose to grab a ball (but the staff are more than happy to work with you to accommodate your needs). You will need to contend with the occasional rude power boater who can't help but to speed through the moorings. Sailing is a blast in Boca Ciega Bay where the marina is located. Beware if you anchor out as holding isn't all that good and after a 20+ knt blow, there's often a boat that didn't heed the warning and gets pushed up ashore. Pump outs are included and easy... a boat comes out to you if you're on a ball, or just pull up to the fuel dock in the marina itself. The fuel dock's pumps are unexpectedly fast - so keep that in mind if you're used to taking more than a few minutes to fill your tanks. Internet is fast but does not extend out to the mooring field. The bay is well protected from weather and is extremely easy to get to all of the other places within the area like Pass a grille, the Gulf, St Pete Beach, the ICW, Tampa Bay, etc. There's easy access to the nearby Pinellas Trail if you like biking that spans the width of St Petersburg. If you like kayaking, Clam Bayou is just around the corner. There's a free tram you can call up if you don't want to walk within the city of Gulfport. Excellent and easy access to any marine services you need in the area. Boat.US towboats, coast guard, and FWC are all stationed in or about the marina. There's no shortage of family owned business and smiling faces to service your boat. The minuses only apply if you take a mooring ball. It's a 10-15 minute dinghy ride to the marina; power boaters will wake through the field despite well placed signage; and no wifi when moored. Despite all that, those negatives of the mooring field are balanced by being right in front of downtown Gulfport; moorings are for sailboats only. In any case, they're constantly improving the Marina and a lot of it is new; so who knows, these negatives may have been resolved by the time you get here.
