Report Review
We are long-time visitors of Linekin Bay Resort, and Smugglers Cove popped up on Dockwa recently, so we thought we'd give it a try. All in all, this spot is great, especially if you prefer no fuss and "self-sufficiency" with docking/mooring. We stayed ashore for the evening, and the rooms were updated and nice. The restaurant was also top-notch (just wish it were open for lunch). The real highlight, though, is the beach on the property. Kids played for hours in the sand and on paddleboards (provided by SCI). Can be tough to find good sand spots in Maine and this is such a lovely little one.
As an FYI, we arrived at high tide and I dropped the family and gear off at the dock before heading to the mooring. Depth at that time was of absolutely no concern. The next morning I checked the depth at the dock at low tide and while I could see the bottom, I'd say there was 6ish feet. I did not venture out on the dinghy to see if there were any rocks, but I don't think there are. At any rate, a shallow draft boat should be ok to get to the dock even at low tide...just be cautious. We'll be back for sure!
