Report Review

We booked a spot for our 60-foot catamaran ahead of time. When we arrived it was very busy and the harbor master was struggling to keep track of the incoming boats and where they needed to go. We had booked starboard tie-up and prepared the boat accordingly. When we arrived the harbor master confirmed starboard tie-up, but when we got into the channel and asked for direction to our slip, the harbormaster told us it was a port tie-up -- we told him that wouldn't work for us and he told is that it's all he has because they are busy. We were assigned slip 201, which is in the far back. We tried to squeeze in, but the boats in the adjacent slips were sticking out too much, not giving us enough room to turn in -- the strong wind did not help. We ended up aborting and anchoring out... Later that evening we found out that our friends in a 40-foot catamaran couldn't fit in that slip and were assigned another slip after they tried to get in and couldn't. We saw numerous bigger yachts not being able to get in because there was no space. One 110-foot yacht anchored right beside us because Chub Cay messed up their reservation.
