The kids that work for the harbor master are inexperienced and arrogant. Check out time for the moorings is 10:00 am, a bit too early in my experience. Check in is 11:00, so it would be easy to allow a departing guest to stay a little late. When we inquired if we could stay an extra 1/2 hour, I was told “unless you’re too cheap to pay for another day, we could not stay a minute past 10:00. With slip accommodations as limited as they are in Edgartown, the moorings are one of the few option in the harbor. Too bad that they take advantage of that with such sub-standard service.
Our next destination was Nantucket Boat Basin. The Edgartown Harbormaster and his staff should tour Nantucket Boat Basin to learn about proper customer service.
