The harbor master assigned moorings for our boat and two other boats we were traveling with as far away from town as possible even though we scheduled the 8 night stay within 30 seconds of the reservation’s opening because we were over 46’. We have always for almost 20 years been, much closer to town with the same boats in years past. There were 10-20 open moorings much closer on any given day of our stay. Even with all the open moorings the dinghy dock was 2-3 deep at all times and occasionally with very large tenders from the anchorage. It seems like the new management is in need of classes on what it means to be in a service industry that typically provides support for boaters to enjoy their time on the water. Hopefully things will change.
