Report Review
We have a Leopard 39 catamaran and spent 8 days on a mooring in Edgartown Harbor. We experienced sustained high winds with gusts up to 35 mph for 48 hours! Although we felt secure throughout the storm, we discovered afterward that our mooring had shifted. The Harbourmaster responded immediately and relocated us.
The mooring field is fairly tight, particularly for larger boats, especially during slack tide. The Old Port launch service was consistently reliable, even in poor weather, making trips ashore easy. Having the water barge in the harbor was an added convenience.
Edgartown, located at the mouth of the harbor, is easily accessible by both the launch and dinghy. The dinghy dock can be a bit challenging, but it is manageable. Throughout our stay, the Harbourmaster was responsive, helpful, and always available to answer our questions.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and look forward to returning next year.
