Report Review

Avoid this location unless you like bad experiences. Tammy left a year ago. Joey left a few weeks ago. These managers left (after getting fed up with Oasis) and the new folks don't seem to have any marine experience. First off, they NEVER answer the VHF. Not for the boatel, the travel lift or even the fuel dock. Calling their phone number only gets you to an Oasis answering service. They then have to "call down" to the yard to locate the staff. Often, they can't reach them either. IMO this is an Oasis/marina management issue, not an issue with the individual staff. I have to echo the experience of the gentleman below about scheduling a time for a haul out. The same has happened to me twice in a row. I recently scheduled a short haul a week in advance, confirmed the appt, signed their contract, and Oasis then billed my credit card immediately (who does this?). The day of the haul they emailed me, confirming the time. At the time of the appt, I showed up to find a boat in the lift. Apparently, doing a survey. Look, I've hosted long enough to know stuff happens. But if the boat arrived late for survey and you have haul outs scheduled behind them, you either don't pull them out or you get them back in ASAP. Basic scheduling and operations but the manager on duty didn't seem like he even understood this fact. The previous time there was a sailboat in the lift, trying to do some repairs (prob so they didn't have to pay a blocking fee) and the management just let it stay there as I waited, idling, far after the scheduled time. Again, no one taking charge of the situation. I've used this facility several times for short hauls and the lift operators and workers are great. But the systems and processes Oasis has in place are for THEIR benefit, not for customer service. They churn their mgmt staff, so now they have inexperienced, clueless management on site. Too bad it's the only travel lift in the area. But Anchor Bay, PYY and Baltimore Peninsula aren't that far away. And cheaper fuel can be had at Anchor Bay or MD Yacht Club.
