Report Review

Late 2009 I purchased a used boat from Marshall Corona of the Boat Center in Madison CT. Since the boat was in rough shape, Marshall stated that I'd be buying a boat the marina would repair and stand behind, as opposed to buying from a private owner in as is/where is condition. I had a sea trial, performed a survey, defined items needing repair and scheduled delivery for end of May 2010. I paid in full and The Boat Center was to store the vessel over winter time and make the agreed upon repairs. I'd receive e-mails or have phone conversations stating that work was completed, but upon inspection, found that some of it was never done or in many cases, was sub-standard. Upon delivery, my kitchen faucet leaked, anchor and line not installed, refrigerator not working, part of the carpeting was soaked from recent rain storm, old batteries not replaced, fiberglass work not completed (some started and not finished and some not even touched), slider door lock jammed, waste hose kinked, and on and on. These repairs were negotiated during the purchasing cycle and paid for in advance (5 months prior)... and should have been completed and tested weeks, if not months, earlier. I've been boating for over a decade and buying a vessel from The Boat Center in Madison CT (sometimes referred to as the Bayliner Boat Center) was the WORST purchase experience I've ever had. BUYER BEWARE!
