Thunderbolt Marina appears to be a commercial Marina, but they treat recreational boaters great! We called on the day before a four day weekend in the summer, looking for a slip. Quick response. “Send in a request on Dockwa and we’ll hook you right up.” Not only did we get in but they let one of their mechanics come to my boat and replace the fresh water pump. A no-notice repair the afternoon before the 4th of July! And… they have nice facilities for transients that are located just off the dock. No need to walk a quarter mile to take a shower. The only negative is a wimpy WiFi. It kind of works. (I’ve yet to stay in a marina with ”good” Wi-Fi…)
They have a loaner car with several grocery stores and Walmarts or Targets quite near. And there’s a restaurant 0.4 miles away (called “Tubby’s.”). I had outstanding shrimp and grits and the Admiral had crab soup that was a killer.
The pricing was reasonable at Thunderbolt.
