Report Review
This marina is nice and easy to access from the ICW. Docking was straightforward, and the current from the river doesn't have much of an effect inside the marina's inlet, so docking was straightforward and easy.
The staff were also courteous and helpful although I think their primary focus is on serving the members of the Freedom Boat Club which is also part of the facility.
I'm giving it three stars because:
1) the docks are floating, which is good, but the surface is made from what looks like an aluminum slatting of some sort. On the plus side, it's cooler than concrete or wood, but on the down side, it's also less resilient. In many places, it's bent or badly broken. The entire middle area of the long main dock to the office/restrooms is completely cracked and broken.
2) The external door to the women's restroom/shower doesn't lock. In fact, the door doesn't even close all the way. To me, this is a huge safety concern that should be easily remedied by either a new door or a repair to the old one.
My understanding is that this marina is under renovation - and I can see where they've done work on the dock office and "ships store," but they still have a bit of work to do to get me to the five-star mark - especially considering it's a "Windward" property and the prices seem to already reflect work that's yet to be done.
