About

Transient Slips are only available to members of reciprocal yacht clubs. Reservations are available to ODBC members to reserve 30 days prior to arrival, members of reciprocal yacht clubs 15 days before arrival.
Apologies, but we do not offer slips to Virtual clubs or the general public.

We are an all-volunteer organization, with families and other outside obligations. We do our utmost to make your stay in Old Town Alexandria as pleasant as possible. We will work to get to your requests answered within 4-6 hours of receiving them, during normal daytime hours.

The Old Dominion Boat Club has three T-ends and two floating docks available for ODBC members and members of reciprocal yacht clubs for transient use. Boat slips temporarily unused within the marina are sometimes available for transient use for members, and members of reciprocal yacht clubs. This includes 18 large slips (25' -55' length and up to 16' beam) and 35 small slips (16' - 23'), for a total of 53 slips. When making a reservation request via Dockwa.com, please include any expected discounts and your membership information (ODBC or reciprocal) in the "Special Request" section when submitting your Reservation request. Your reservation will not be approved and charged unless your expected discount is verified/granted and your ODBC or reciprocal club membership is validated. Cancellations for overnight stays 24 hours prior to expected arrival will not be charged or refunded in full. Cancellations for overnight stays within 24 hours will be charged for the first night only.

Slips or T-ends not previously reserved may be assigned to members or transients for a "day sail" (casual use for a few hours) up to three days in advance of arrival. Please indicate your expected arrival/departure time when making a "day sail" request.

Charges for transient slip usage will be established according to the length of the boat, and will be Two Dollars ($2.00) per foot per night for members of reciprocal yacht clubs. There will be an additional charge for reciprocal transient slip usage of an electrical connection fee of Five Dollars ($5.00) for each 30 amp circuit and Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each 50 amp circuit per night. Note Pier A just south of the Zero Prince St clubhouse has 30A/50A electrical service, but no water hookup at this time. The dilapidated Tee directly behind the clubhouse is unsafe and not to be used. It is slated for demolition in spring 2021.

All transient slip fees shall be paid via reservations made at Dockwa.com. Transients occupying the north and south T-end shall berth their boat so that it does not block the interior fairway between the north and the south piers with no part of the transient’s boat extending beyond the last piling on the north or south T-end closest to the Fairway.

ODBC M & B Rules require line size appropriate for the boat size, with larger boats (25'+) expected to have ½ line minimum to secure a boat in the ODBC Marina. Visiting boat owners are responsible for using their own lines . As a courtesy to slip holders, any lines found in a slip are not to be used or tampered with so that when the assigned slip holder re-occupies the slip they do not have to adjust the lines. Visiting boaters are required to provide their own electrical power cords.

Approach

The North and South Tees at 1 King are located just South of the Alexandria City Marina. There is an ODBC sign on the railing down the fairway between the two Tees, and black signs that say "Private Docks, Members Only, Old Dominion Boat Club" on both the North and South Tees. These two Tees are approximately 63' long. Pier A is 0.1 miles South and is identified by two black "Private Docks Old Dominion Boat Club" signs, and one red "Private Pier No Trespassing" sign. The Tee is approximately 64' long, 3' above high tide level, has a 10' wide access pier. It is located just south of the ODBC Clubhouse at Zero Prince st. The Club Tee has electrical service and will have water service soon. The clearly dilapidated Pier/Tee directly behind the clubhouse is unsafe and not to be used. It is slated for demolition in spring 2021.

This is a great stop if your draft is under 5’. At Low tide we consistently saw depth of only 5’, almost 8’ at high tide. Folks were very friendly with a great clubhouse bar and restaurant. This downtown location is awesome. Scores of restaurants, groceries, West Maine, and other shops within walking distance. We even found a dog groomer, and Archie looks great!

Location can’t be beat. We tied on TDock (the only spot a 52’ boat can fit). Could see the Capital. Washington Monument & National Harbor from our deck. Docks in pretty good shape.

Dock is located at the end of King Street, where everything is happening. Restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. Club was very welcoming, and we enjoyed several meals there and meeting new friends. Alexandria is a must see! There’s also a free trolley which takes you right to the Metro station to catch the train to Washington DC.
