Report Review
Let me start by saying, " I love Dutch Harbor", beautiful tranquil atmosphere, lovely sunsets, great swimming area, excellent staff to include your friendly shuttle staff.
Although this review may sound similar to the one I wrote last year around this time, it is indeed a new one. As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, I spend the Fourth of July week each year at your facility, and this year felt a bit different.
It appears that the Town of Jamestown has started strictly enforcing the dinghy permit law. Several times during the week, I observed town officials checking dinghies for permit tags. In previous years, there were designated areas where we could land our dinghies and easily venture into town, but that didn’t seem to be the case this year.
As I’ve previously suggested, when renting a mooring ball from TPG, there should be a designated area for patrons to land their dinghies and access town without the concern of being ticketed for not having a permit. TPG provides a great shuttle service to and from the mooring field to the TPG dock, and as mentioned above the staff operating the shuttle are second to none. But, if you’re planning to take the Jamestown shuttle to Newport, it’s important to time your return carefully, as the shuttle service stops at a certain time at night which is another factor guests must consider when planning their nights out.
Despite this minor inconvenience, TPG remains a beautiful and enjoyable place to stay. I would absolutely recommend it to others and look forward to returning.
