The staff is noticeably more professional/friendly and easily identified by the matching shirts. The dock staff assisted with docking and securing of my boat. Restrooms and dock area obviously cleaner. I don’t mind the increased fees since it’s obviously going towards improvements. I do like that I don’t have to get up early and head over to guarantee I get a slip. Having it reserved and knowing the dock space prior to arrival is helpful. Only negative I have is that I’m
Predominately a day tripper. When it’s nice, we head over. I’m not likely to reserve a slip weeks in advance prior to it being opened to out of town residents for a single Saturday or Sunday. My concern for day trippers is the weekends will all be sold out in advance without slips being available for Town of Islip day trippers.
