When we arrived in the harbor around 12:35 I called on the phone to inquire where our reserved mooring was located. The phone went to voicemail saying they are open Monday-Friday, leave a message. I then tried multiple of times on Channel 9 and nobody answered. I realize “check in” is 3:00, but a severe storm was predicted to begin around 3:00 and we wanted to be secure before it hit. We ended up wandering around the moorings until we found a vacant THB Rental mooring and picked it up. This is the second time we’ve had an issue. 2 years ago, I had a reservation and when I called for the location, I was told it was in Long Cove. When we got to it, there was another boat on it. I called the office and was told she was alone and couldn’t do anything about. They didn’t have any other available moorings and that I could just anchor. If I had wanted to anchor, I wouldn’t have reserved a mooring.
