Report Review
Nice marina with mostly fixed and some floating docks. We stayed here on our way back from the Abacos. Very professional staff. Nice location for a short Uber ride for the many hotels serving the cruise ship riders. Really neat store with a timeline of pictures showing the construction of the port (manmade). Only knock, and a small one, is the gas pumps are slow. About 45 minutes for 250 gallons, but we were on vacation so no problem. This is a well run marina. Very safety conscious. One of the few left that lets owners self perform work. Watched them put a boat in the water and staff was equipped with hard hats and hi-viz uniforms. That's a first at any marina I have seen. Speaks to the safety culture and professionalism. Amenities we unfortunately did not get to enjoy were an onsite pool and outdoor bar. At least 4 restaurants east and a short walk. Sadly, it seems the cruise ship industry threw their weight around and the Port non-renewed their lease. I am going to send emails/letters to contacts they provide and express my opposition to this move. Amazing in a state that benefits so much from the boating industry yet they prostitute themselves to the big investors. So many boaters and employees will be affected. I would encourage anyone who reads this to write to the contacts the marina provides. Might be your marina next. This place is an "Old Florida" gem 50 years in the making. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
