Report Review

Rian Harbor (formerly Jack’s Marine) has recently become one of the MOST expensive moorings on Long Island Sound, and yet – the moorings are NOT easily identifiable (we searched for 15 minutes, instructions were limited – how about a map?), the first mooring’s bridle was not long enough to reach the water surface, and the second mooring assigned had a bridle that was less than 4 feet in length and covered in barnacles and mud. This is likely because the staff has never been on a boat, let alone attempted to maintain the moorings, or uniformly color code the mixed style and color of the existing hodgepodge of moorings. Oh, and no shower, no launch, no wifi in the mooring field; nothing that would help justify the price, other than they raised their price to the exact same inflated price as their competitor, which is double market rates. Dering Harbor and the local restaurant Isola are longtime favorites for us, but we’re moving on until Rian offers quality moorings at a fair value. P.S. I've just read other reviews and should have known better. Read up cruisers.
