Prior to arrival the booking process was excellent. However as we approached the Marina we hailed Channel 71 to determine our slip assignment and the response was less than satisfactory. The weather conditions at the time were terrible with a 20 knot and heavy driving rain. The staff were non responsive initially, making us wait for over 10 minutes and then informing us that our slip was available and would not be available until 1:00 p.m. The time at this point was 11:00 a.m. We asked about a pump out and they told us where to find it but did not offer any assistance to dock. Again, remember the conditions at the time. We managed to dock at the pump out and in doing so spotted an open 40 foot dock with a reserved sign so again contacted the office and were told we could take it. The wind and rain were relentless so we asked for help to get off the pump out dock and into our slip. The staff reluctantly agreed and were frankly surly and clearly inconvenienced in having to help us dock. It is so unfortunate because your facility and the town itself is simply lovely. We were completely baffled as to why the staff would not automatically offer assistance to dock anytime but especially when the conditions were so poor. It seems that the Marina requires some sort of managerial oversight where the staff are kept busy helping your patrons. Uniform shirts, such as are found in most other marinas would also be a definite asset. Thanks for the opportunity to provide our feedback.
