Roche Harbor Resort & Marina

Always one of my favorite stops. It’s so beautiful and charming. Always enjoy the sculpture garden. No matter how many times I go I see more sculptures I missed on the last visit. Wish they would get rid of the coin operated showers. Free would be great. Just raise the moorage by $.50 a day. Or if that’s impossible, point of sale interface that you can tap with your phone.

Always a first class place

We love Roche Harbor. The staff, store, restaurants, laundry and grounds have all been great. During our last visit (September 2024) the shower situation was abysmal. I tried four separate showers and three were not functioning properly. It’s disappointing to walk up and pay for a shower and have them not work as you’d expect. I’m sharing with the hope that the situation can be remedied, which will raise my rating.

Great weather ,the food and beverages at the marina were excellent.Went on the hiking trails by the airport, excellent. Hike the trail along the airport runway to the main trails to avoid the highway traffic. Very helpful courteous help on the docks.

We were at nine different marinas in the islands this month, both in the US and Canada. Roche is absolutely the finest, best managed facility with the best amenities of all. "Colors" is always a highlight, and every marina should have a Phecap Phreak! Kudos to the excellent management and staff. Incidentally, they have the very best folks on VHF when we're coming in, quickly responsive and clear, concise instructions to find your slip.

Roche Harbor Marina deserves a 5-star rating for the courtesy and professionalism of their staff, variety of services offered, activities nearby, and natural beauty. We will be back!

Roche Harbor is an extraordinary place with excellent staff and facilities. Looking forward to returning. This was our 31st wedding anniversary and we were at Roche together on a boat while dating 32 years ago at about the same time. A great place to come to celebrate

Very pleasant marina. Staff were on hand to catch our lines and we very much enjoyed lunch at the Madrona Bar & Grill. I was very moved by the Colors ceremony at sunset. Highly recommend.

Great place for the family and four legged friends. The service is always excellent. The dock hands are very helpful. One of our favorite summer destinations.

Roche Harbor is such a beautiful place to visit. We extended our stay because we were having such a great time. The staff are so helpful and friendly whether they are helping you dock, delivering a bbq, or even pumping your septic. The grounds are beautiful and the amenities and shops are wonderful. Great trails to walk and a fun pool for the families. We will be back again!

Roche Harbor is a favorite. I've been visiting the resort for 50 years, by land and by boat. This Summer's visit was no exception. The staff was great, the moorage wonderful and as always we enjoyed Colors. My only comment would be that I was disappointed that there were two boats displaying political banners (large and multiple) on the visitors dock. I was on vacation partly to get away from that and had to pass them each time down the dock. Would have loved for that to not have been the case. Please consider some rules around that issue.

Called in about 3 minutes prior to arrival. They quickly replied and assigned me a slip for the evening. As I arrived at my assigned slip there were 3 dock crew to greet us and to receive lines. Facilities were well maintained and clean. Marina had BBQ’s and smokers available for guests to use. If I was to say one negative thing would be the moorage rate at $3.00 ft and they do not offer a military/veterans or First Responders discount. Will definitely be back.

Roche Harbor is amazing -- from our first radio in, we were greeted at our slip, got a free pump out, walked around the village and drove around the marina. It has everything and feels like the place you envisioned when you bought a boat. the help was amazing, super friendly young adults. they loan BBQs, hoses, shore power cords - it's the best the bathrooms got pretty beat up after a morning, so i hope they can improve housekeeping. quarters for showers, not my favorite "feature," but not a deal breaker, i suppose. cant wait to return

Outstanding facilities and service. Terrific for families with lots of fun activities to see and do. We left vowing to return.

What a great place to be. Rain or shine you seem to have a lot do. The dock people here are some of the best, always being very courteous and helpful.

Roche Harbor is always a fun place to go. The staff helps you with anything you need from docking to pump outs and even brought us a grill to use. There are great walks and lots to do.

First time here and we will be back. Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. Docks and grounds are kept impeccably. Good food and drinks at Madrona Grill and Lime Kiln Cafe.

Love this place. There is lots of space in the harbor, the slips are pretty wide, the docks are beautiful and full of fun activity, and the amenities are top notch. Great food, grocery store, showers, and an awesome nearby sculpture garden

Beautiful Marina, love the evening ceremony of retiring the colors. Macmillan’s Restaurant is very good. Nice places to take hikes. Like the ability to shuttle to Friday Harbor

Everybody loves Roche Harbor, including us. We arrived on February 13, the day before Valentine Day to enjoy the week. And as always, we were greeted with a very helpful Roche Harbor staff member; helped us secure our boat and run power.

We have literally cruised around the world and there is no marina I'd rather be at.

We were there for the recent Ranger Tug/Cutwater rendezvous. Great facility and even better harbormaster, dock, fuel, and pump out staff. They were all very helpful and accommodating.

Roche Harbor is great. A slightly premium cost, but you get premium services and amenities for that price. The staff is great. The area is enjoyable. A very nice marina. We go there a few times a year.

The entertainment was good, especially the band on Saturday afternoon on the pier - excellent. We were disappointed that the main washrooms were not up to their usual standard - the floor was not swept all weekend. We were surprised that no dock staff were there to help us upon arrival - very unusual.

We had an incredible extended stay on the guest dock this summer. Staff was extremely helpful and competent. Facilities were clean and well maintained. The new wine tasting was great. Thank you for another wonderful Summer. We will be back.

We always enjoy our stay. It’s been 55 years since the first time I visited. Never forget the first and definitely not the last. An incredible relaxing place to visit. Our favourite boating destination .

Our mid-August visit, 2d of the season, was once again excellent. The harbor and VHF were very busy but the harbor master handled the traffic with aplomb and the dock staff was, as always, ready and skilled. The docks are well equipped and maintained, the shoreside varied and inviting, and Roche Harbor somehow always manages to quiet things down on the docks by 10pm. It’s a fine place.

One of the best Marinas in Washington. Great amenities and services. The harbor is well protected from most winds. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Can't wait to spend another week at this beautiful marina/resort.

We love Roche Harbor and the service. We have never been disappointed. They always go over and above to keep our group of boats together.

The staff at the resort and marina are always professional and very pleasant to interact with. It is difficult to imagine better customer service than one encounters at Roche Harbor resort.

Great plaice to visit, amazing and friendly Staff always willing to lend an hand and great services. Would recommend visiting here if you’re in the San Juan’s. My only suggestion would be to start a recycling program at a bare minimum for empty cans and bottles. I was shocked that we were advised to discard empties as there is no recycling on the island. We actually brought them home with us so we could recycle them locally.

We had a great stay as always. I would make one observation/suggestion. In my neighborhood, we have blue recycling cans, and green yard waste cans and grey garbage cans. I'm never sure if the blue cans are for recycle or garbage. Sometimes I look in them and I see garbage or recycling stuff. I think it would be great if you just marked a "G" for garbage on one and "R" for recycle. I'm pretty sure people don't know the difference right now. See you again soon.

Roche Harbor Marina is a first class experience from beginning to end! The staff is fantastic. They greet you on arrival and are quick to answer questions and meet any needs you may have. The docks are clean and uncluttered. The marina bathrooms for guests are very clean and wonderful. With a grocery store, multiple dining options, shopping and ice cream it's a boaters dream .Don't miss the colors ceremony every evening. I highly recommend a visit!!

We've visited Roche Harbor numerous times over the years & I think it is just getting better. The dock crew was very attentive and made the whole process relaxing. Good meals at the Cafe. All made for a kick-back visit!

If I could give a 100 star rating, I would! Roche Harbor is the most beautiful marina in the country, with the most amazing staff who treat us like we're best friends! There are many things to do while you're a guest, and three terrific restaurants to enjoy. Shopping is wonderful as is the small, but very well stocked, food store. You'll love it!

I have been attending this Marina since 1972! This is by far the greatest experience I have had in the many years of my boating career! They are well organized, trained, and off the chart in helping one enjoy the Roche Harbor Stay! greatest 4th of July in the entire Pacific Northwest!

Once again we had a wonderful time at Roche! We brought our daughter and her family and 4 friends from Tennessee. Everyone loved the pool, the restaurants and the shops. The marina staff was super friendly and helpful and was staffed more thoroughly than so many businesses these days! We'll be back soon!!

We thoroughly enjoy coming to Roche Harbor every time. The staff, the environment, the surroundings are second to none. Everyone of the staff make you feel like you are the most important guest. An absolutely brilliant weekend June 16 & 17. Despite cloudy and cool weather, Billy and I (plus our friends) thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Marina for my birthday. We were supposed to only stay one night, but gladly extended our stay! (Plus we had a fuel issue, so having Phillbrooks available was a trip-saver) We’ll be back!

The marina staff are awesome. We were newbies and they sent two folks down to help us dock. They stayed to help get power hooked up. Great group of young folks working here. They were all smiling and all very helpful. Facilities are great. Didn't need or want anything they didn't have. Thanks for a great stay Roche Harbor.

Roche Harbor and their staff always make staying there a memorable experience. However, to make finding you assigned slip easier and less frustrating, how about making the sign at the end of the main guest dock " G" which identifies the odd and even slip number sides readible from more than 50ft away! Serious the font should be large enough to be read at least a few hundred feet away!

Roche Harbor is our favorite place to be. They have the best service of any marina, the staff is outstanding and always eager to help to make your stay memorable.

Crew was great to help with lines and getting settled upon arrival. Use of tent and bbqs was important. Friendly dock staff.

Excellent service. The most expensive marina we have ever visited. The only real negative is the dock we were assigned to was quite old and we were very concerned about getting splinters.

White glove service! A personal touch of service every step of the way - from the moment we reached the dock to the moment we departed. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The staff was even able to accommodate our late dock side pump out request. We look forward to coming back!

Arrived with another 200+ Ranger and Cutwater boats. Dock crew were waiting and assisted as needed. Throughout our stay, staff were easily available and friendly.

Very beautiful and protected location. Staff very helpful though not equally as friendly. Throwback to another era with Disney-like experience. Restaurants were really good. Showers were lacking and need some updating. However I’d definitely go there again because if it’s overall charm.

Roche Harbor is a throwback to the days of family gatherings and traditions. There’s comfort in the continuity of services, food and attention to details that the entire staff exhibits. In this time of staffing shortages and struggles with supply chains, Roche pulled off a stunning “back to normal” vacation experience. We can’t wait to return next year!

Tremendous, helpful and courteous staff! Love the uniforms so it's easy to identify staff members from visitors. Love the complimentary pump outs. Pretty pricey, especially for visiting Canadian boaters, but there is no question about the quality of the resort, the services provided, or the staff support.

Beautiful facility in protected harbor. Hailed the marina on VHF on arrival in the harbor and was directed to slip. Dock hands helped with our arrival and mobile pump-out was included in the cost of the stay, which was expensive! A reasonable grocery store is on-site, plus some other tourist shops and stalls plus a couple of eating options available (45 min wait for the bar and grill on a Monday at 6:30). A few walking options on shore and great for megayacht watching!

Been Visiting Roche Harbor for years, the dock crew and staff are still awesome, however the vibe of Roche is dead. No more live music to cap off the day post Covid is very disappointing and there appears to be no logical answer other than the local home owners don't like the noise. Sadly we will probably skip Roche next year as a planned stop. Bring back the music and vibe. prices keep going up and the uniqueness and vibe of the location are going down, not a great model to ensure long-term success.

Roche Harbor is the best marina in the entire PNW! Great staff, facilities, restaurants, store and location! We love to visit as often as possible.

Dear Roche Harbor Staff, From the moment we arrived at Roche Harbor Marina we were warmly welcomed and received docking assistance from capable staff throughout our two-night three-day stay. All our needs were exceeded by staff who answered our questions, emptied tanks, and helped us arrange scheduling for another visit to Roche in two weeks (during your busy season). We also enjoyed eating out. McMillin's Restaurant has excellent food and wonderful staff. And breakfasts at the cafe helped make us feel like we were all on vacation, too. My wife and I were thrilled that we were assigned Juliet 1 a + b as that slip is just a short walk for our elderly parents to get to all the shore activities. Thank you Roche Harbor for everything you do! We're looking forward to our next visit. From all of us aboard the Independence 2.

There is no question that this is a BEAUTIFUL location! And the staff and amenities cannot be beat … seriously! The only draw back of Roche in the summer is that it’s a bit of a zoo of “see and be seen” folks. You know the type - they have gorgeous boats that they use less than 20 hrs a year, and … half of those hours are spent coming to sit at a dock at Roche. Whatever, you do you.

Roche Harbor is a wonderful place to stay. I love how they have lots of dock staff to help you dock and make sure the marina runs smooth. The food options here are excellent. They have a well stocked store. The history is entertaining and contributes to the atmosphere. Really cool flag ceremonies in the evenings including a cannon shot. Definitely coming back here again.

Roche Harbor is an excellent marina. We made reservations for a slip several days in advance and were greeted professionally when we arrived at the marina. The dock staff was polite and helpful getting tied up at our slip. THE facilities are good with great food and service. The town is a fun place to visit and easy to get around the island. This is definitely a place to stop in the San Juans.

This is one of the best marina's in the PNW. I'd like to send quite a few others there for some lessons in how to run a proper marina. The staff are great, the young folks that work the docks are friendly and extremely helpful, everything is clean and tidy, the food is great and the location is awesome. We've stayed many times and always enjoy it so much. Looking forward to our next trip.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day stay at the Roche Harbor Marina. The dock-hands were “Johnny on the spot” and offered great assistance. The town has cute shopping, and hiking trials within walking distance. The sunsets are amazing as is the breakfast at the Lime Kiln restaurant! We’ll definitely be back.

This is one of the nicest Marinas out there. The staff is amazing, the service are great, the docks are in good condition, the slips are beamy and it's a really nice part of the world. I love coming up to stay here. If I had one piece of feedback, it's keep the fuel dock open a tiny bit later. I like to get fuel when I arrive so I don't have to worry about it when I want to head out.

Roche Harbor is one of my favorite marina destination in the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands. The docks are wide, clean and not steep at low tide! But, best of all is the warm welcome we always get from the dock attendants like Melissa and Morgan. Very friendly and extremely helpful. They just never say no to anything! Shore side activities and shops are great and the food fare is top notch. Rounding out our day, we look forward to the Colors Ceremony at sunset.

Great place to stay. Everyone was courteous and very helpful. My only complaint is that the store opens late and closes early. After going out fishing all day we could not buy any ice to put on our fish, but the folks at the hotel were great, they gave us some ice, no charge, so we could ice down our fish! Now that is a courtesy you just don’t find anymore . Can’t wait to go back. We really enjoy it there. We try to get up there at least 2 or 3 times a year weather we are fishing or just out boating as a family.

Top notch marina, professionally and courteously run. Dock hands that are quick to help with a smile. Lots of activities to enjoy here. Just don't check customs here as the agents are always jerks that enjoy hassling boaters...go to Friday Harbor.

Living in the PNW, we love to explore marinas and decompress from our everyday life. Roche Harbor is one of our all time favorites! The guest services at the marina is outstanding! They meet you at your slip and help you dock. Take any garbage you may have acquired during your trip to the Marina and help with anything you may need to know about when arriving. They have great restaurants and a store to pick up things you may need while there (like...wine!). The Madrona Bar and Grill is our fav to get great seafood! The lime Kiln Cafe has great breakfasts, but get there early, you'll have to stand in line! The showers/restrooms are very well maintained and are handy if you can't shower up on your vessel. Lots of places to explore while the like the Mausoleum, a great place to see history and for photo shoots. Relaxing on the back of our 28ft Searay with snacks and cocktails in the evening and talking with people docked around us is one of the fun things we love to do. You get to meet some great Boat-people! The Resort at Roche Harbor is also fantastic if you can't stay on your boat. They cater to your delights and make you feel like a VIP! The Color Guard to close the day is a Roche harbor tradition. It's fun to watch. Boats in the Harbor all participate by honking their horns. Nice way to involve the whole boating community. I can't say enough great things about Roche Harbor. We always try to visit 2 to 3 times a year!
