Report Review
We’ve loved Rosario in the past, but this visit was SO disappointing. After arriving late (6:30 pm) in rough weather, we couldn’t reach anyone by radio or phone and were challenged to stay still in the high winds. Once we eventually got through, we were told to dock at the fuel pier — right behind whale watching boats — which we felt was unsafe in this weather for our small kids and dog.
Already stressed, we expressed concerns but were immediately met with hostility by Beau (owner) in the marina office. He refused to help, also refused to refund our money when we asked to depart, threatened to call the cops on us (??), and showed zero interest in resolving the issue. He said we try tying up to the breakwater, demanded we leave his office and said “I’d never give up one of the open 40 ft slips for a 28 ft boat.” Never in my life have I been treated so aggressively by someone in customer service.
We noticed many open slips but weren’t told until the next day (by a much friendlier dockhand) that they were annual moorage — a simple explanation Beau never gave. That alone could’ve diffused the situation.
We did get moved to a better spot for our second night and appreciated the restaurant staff, who were great. But at $120/night, even small boats deserve better treatment. Sadly, we heard others share similar experiences. Sail elsewhere if you can.
