Report Review

We came to Harborage for a 2 week stay. Upon arrival, we had help from Jake, their assistant dock-master, and Jagger, one of their dockhands. The grounds are very well kept here and we had plenty of places to walk our pup. We utilized the trolly service one evening when it was raining to take us from our boat over to our friends boat on the south basin of the marina. This was extremely convenient and the driver was very friendly. The laundry room here is very clean and so are the showers/restrooms. It was nice that the machines used an app so we didn't have to worry about making change. The pool and poor bar/restaurant are also really nice to have. The downside however is there seemed to be a lack of communication. Upon arrival we were asked if we needed fuel or a pump out, we didn't need either at the time and asked to just be placed on the weekly pump out as we would be aboard our vessel for the 2 weeks. We remembered from our first visit here 2 years prior that you needed to let them know you wanted to be placed on a pump out schedule. We've been at many other marinas, and other Safe Harbors specifically, and have never needed to be placed on a list. Usually, we’ve seen dockhands simply pump out every vessel on the dock, and if they were unsure if the boat needed a pump out they would knock on the vessel and if no one answered, they would hop aboard and connect the pump out hose to check anyway. Something to keep in mind if you are transiting through here to let them know to be placed on the list, don’t just assume they will come to your boat. Come pump out day, our boat was skipped. I went to the office to check what day pump out was for our dock, as maybe I was mistaken on the day. Lauren told me that she would check with her team - red flag number one, as the GM I would think she would know what day pump out was. She stated that pump out for our dock was today (Thursday). I told her I’d be back at our boat and would wait to see someone, to which she replied they were done doing pump outs for the day. I told her that we were skipped, and she didn't seem to care. This was at about 2pm in the afternoon, which was plenty of time to still address the fact that our boat was skipped. She asked if we could wait until next Thursday, to which I told her no as we were aboard our vessel for the entirety of our 2 week stay. She then said that she would see if we could get a pump out in a few days on Sunday. I didn’t get an “Oh I’m sorry my team skipped you, let me send someone out” or anything. Come Sunday, Jagger came to pump out our boat - which if anyone at the marina should get a shout out it’s definitely him. He goes above and beyond and was extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. The next Thursday rolls around, and we were once again skipped for pump out. I luckily ran outside to grab the other dockhand and ask him if he was coming back to get our boat, to which we replied that he didn’t know we needed one as we weren’t on the list, the list that I had now asked to be placed on twice. If you know you have a transient reservation staying for anything over a couple days, you would think to put them on the pump out schedule regardless as you would assume they’d be aboard their vessel and would likely need a pump out. It’s one thing to get skipped once, but twice?
