Welcome to Piscataqua Marina, formerly known as Badgers Island Marina East. We are located about 2 Nm from the mouth of the Piscataqua River at the base of the Memorial Bridge between Badgers’ Island in Maine and Portsmouth, NH. Our marina offers slips ranging from 32-125’ for summer, winter and transient occupancy. We have available showers, 30-100 amp electrical service, ice, water at the slip, complimentary wi-fi service and pump-out, parking and laundry facilities. We also offer winter and year-round liveaboard space. Our concrete floating docks are almost as stable as land. Dave, our dockmaster, is on site Wednesdays through Sundays during the summer season. Our small, 27 slip marina offers a true family atmosphere. A short walk across the Memorial Bridge puts you in the middle of historic downtown Portsmouth. Listen to concerts in Prescott Park directly across the river. Fine dining and nightlife is within walking distance in Portsmouth and Kittery Foreside Come for a visit and see for yourself what a great spot we have! We monitor Channels 9 & 13 or call us at the number or emails below
Convenient location to both Kittery and Portsmouth. Currents can be wicked so best to time for slack tide. Despite being a no wake zone you will get waked, quiets down at night.
The marina is convenient to downtown Portsmouth, NH. The Dockmaster, Dave, is excellent. The downside is that during the day, the marina gets hit with big wakes from inconsiderate boaters. There is no enforcement. The wi-fi could be better. Be careful of the current in the river. It is strong but manageable.
Dock, Master, David Gave us wonderful insight to the Marina, was very helpful giving us, restaurants, stores, locations, and current events in the area. Marina was nice and clean
Fast current but Dockmaster was extremely helpful and provides all the detail needed for an easy docking. Only room for one larger boat at T-head and no 208V/3ph electric. Great location and quiet even next to the bridge.
First off, David the dock master / manager could not have been better. Good communication prior to arrival, great information about local activities. The marina location is perfect for accessing Portsmouth which is a must see NE city. The facility is clean and well maintained, permanent marina customers are friendly and welcoming to visitors. There is a catch…the current in the river is totally manageable just listen to David and time your arrival and exit…however the boat and wake traffic is ridiculous and could be managed with the placement of a couple of slow markers. The local yahoo boat traffic screaming by at 25+ makes for an unsafe and uncomfortable waterway. I took the time to report the conditions to the USCG, Port Authority, and City Council and would suggest other boaters do the same. With some small corrective action this would be a 5 star cruising stop on the upper NE.
Dockmaster Dave was very helpful and knowledgeable. A friendly and great stay with nice people
Dave is fantastic- prince among men, as my wife says. Tides and proximity to bridge make this marina a bit tricky for sailboats.
Location is quiet and calm. Dockmaster was very friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms and showers. Good proximity to downtown Portsmouth and Kittery
In case you're not aware, be advised the Piscataqua River has quite a current (up to 5 kts) and this marina is very close to the lift bridge, so if you have a lot of air draft, make sure you are ready to dock in current (or time it during slack). That current flows through the slips, so not always the quietest anchorage. Facilities (laundry, showers) are well maintained and attended. Super easy access to downtown Portsmouth. There are even a couple of good eats on Badger's Island (the land this is attached to).
A sweet spot just before the first lift bridge. It’s a very friendly dock with several lives aboards. We were waiting out hurricane Henri so the location allowed us to walk across the bridge into town. Dave, the dockmaster is the one person to tell you exactly how and when to enter or leave the dock. Do not ignore his expert advice. He helped us leave a tight spot this morning even though it was his day off! Truly great service. I highly recommend this marina.
Nice, small, no services Rocking because boaters on the River do not pay attention to the no wake zone Dockmadter Dave Ok
This marina is truly a hidden gem. Close to downtown Portsmouth. Dave, the dockmaster, was fantastic. Amenities are wonderful. We will definitely be back next year for a longer stay.
Great location. Short walk over bridge to Portsmouth and many fabulous restaurants and shops. David was very helpful. Facilities were clean.
Great service from dock master. Easy access to Portsmouth & Kittery.
A great welcome to Maine. The current rips through here, but Dave the dockmaster will direct you in and out safely at slack tide. Once in, the small marina is neat and clean. The area is well worth a visit.
It's been mentioned that the current in the Piscataqua River is very strong. We arrived at slack tide and had no problem docking at the end of the dock. However, when the current increased our sailboat was rocking wildly. It was a rough night aboard. The dockmaster Dave was very helpful and friendly. He advised us on an ideal time to shove off given the current and proximity to the bridge.
Strong currents and boat wakes make the east dock a tough place to stay. Dave the dockmaster is great.
Good stay, excellent location. Friendly service and friendly neighbors. As I have a bigger boat, it was a little rock-and-roll on the outer dock between the current and the passing boats, but the marina was rather pleasant.
