Located on the majestic and scenic Sassafras River, on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort provides easy access to the Chesapeake Bay, while being secluded and protected in a lovely cove on the Sassafras River. A full service marina, Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort is situated on 18 acres of wooded and scenic shoreline, complete with 365 slips (both open slips and covered sheds), jet ski and boat lifts, amenities which include: fuel dock and ships store, Signals - our restaurant which serves excellent food and drinks, olympic size swimming pool, childrens pool, tennis court, basketball court, picnic and bar-b-que areas, volleyball area, boaters lounge, wireless internet access, exercise room, large bathroom- shower facilities-featuring 28 separate tiled showers with private heads, and laundry facilities.
Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort is named after the historic Chesapeake sailing workboat, the "Skipjack". This fleet of sailing workboats once numbered close to 2,000, but with the decline in oysters harvested from the Chesapeake, the fleet is now less than 20 boats. The preservation of America's last commercial fishing sailing fleet, the Skipjack, is a Maryland priority.
