This is our second stay at Leland with the first being in 2019. Everything is just how we remembered it, it was worth a return visit. The dockhands were very helpful in getting tied up, the facilities were spotless and the wifi was pretty decent. We very much enjoy Leland/Fish Town and this stop did not disappoint. If I could give one recommendation to Leland harbor it would be to consider adding a "dinghy shuttle" service to get guests up on Lake Leelanau with tenders/dinghies. It would be a 100 yard two from the marina and would really open up the possibilities for boaters who bring tenders with them. We'd absolutely extend our stays in Leland if this type of service were available.
We recently spent 7 nights at Edward C Grace and it was an outstanding experience. The slips are great, the facilities clean and the location is amazing. We utilized their free dinghy shuttle to access the upper harbor and Torch Lake twice during our visit. What an outstanding feature! I'm not aware of a marina with more on-water opportunities than Elk Rapids. There's a perfect beach for families immediately adjacent to the marina, there's a small river you can send kids (and adults) tubing down that ends up at the beach, we saw live music on the waterfront one evening...endless entertainment. The marina can be a bit exposed to NW winds so be prepared, especially if you're in slips 1-24. That said, there's so much to do at/near this marina there's no reason to stay on your boat if it starts rolling in the slip. If you're planning to stay for more than one or two days it's helpful to plan ahead for food options. The downtown restaurants can have some very unusual/unpredictable hours. It can be difficult to find food at times. But when all else fails the Elk Rapids Marina on the upper harbor has a shop that seems to be open daily (thankfully) with some limited options. We will return to this marina. We had an absolute blast.
