For almost 20 years, we were under the misapprehension that we could not get our Catalina 445 into this marina. I communicated with Andy on approach and we had 2 wonderful nights at dock and a great meal at Sailor’s Pub! Everyone was so engaging and knowledgeable. The bathrooms were new and clean as were the showers! I had a chance to pick Andy’s brain on boat electronics and had a lovely Swedish cake at the Pub. A complimentary car was available to us. We cruised to Jacksonport and sat outside listening to music, watching the water, and eating Cubano sandwiches. Wonderful! For those with sailing vessels: We draw 5’10”. No problems as long as you enter lining up the red bouys and keep them tight to your starboard until you get to the green/red entrance. We will be there early next summer! Kaps is now on our list of definite destinations each season. Staff is so friendly and helpful and the food is great at the Wagon Wheel. There is a new clothing shop - Do North - where I got very nice stuff that dries quickly. The walk to the main road is short and there are several ice cream shops. It’ fun to watch the ferries some and go, but it’s not in the thick of it so it is very quiet. Electrical is 50amp and adaptors are available. Wifi is good from the furthest slip. Keep your fenders low coming in and keep closer to the green buoy at the entrance. Easily handles 5.5 draught.
