Tried and failed to stay at this Marina. Their website has a Dockwa-logo "reserve here" button but they're not set up on Dockwa, so no way to reserve transient space except by phone. I called about a week in advance; guy who answered the phone was able to give me a mooring reservation but said I needed to call back the day before arrival to see whether dock space would be available. Called again the day before arrival and asked for the dockmaster's office. The girl who answered the phone said she didn't understand what I meant by "dockmaster's office." When I was eventually able to explain what I was calling about, she told me the guy who had given me the mooring reservation and told me to call him the day before arrival was on vacation. But she told me "one of the mechanics" said there was no dock space available. She confirmed my mooring reservation and told me to telephone when I arrived (since their VHF radio doesn't work) for mooring assignment and directions. I called when we were about 30 minutes out, just after 3 pm, and got a recording saying their hours were 8 - 3:30 and to leave a message. I left a message and called repeatedly until 3:30, but no answer and no callback. We didn't want to end up on some other boat's mooring and also be unable to access shoreside heads, so we gave up and made new late-afternoon plans for the night. Maybe these guys treat their seasonal customers or restaurant patrons well, but we found them completely incompetent at dealing with transients.

Wildly overpriced for what you get. When we arrived, hailed to ask how to find our assigned mooring; no response. Called by phone instead; person answering phone didn't know, and there was no one else available. Included launch was not running (it's available 7 days a week, unless it's the dock person's day off, or he's not in). Free restroom in the store was disgustingly dirty; another restroom and shower in the adjacent building cost $5 per use. $2 charge to fill with water at the fuel dock. $5 per bag to drop off garbage. Assuming 2 people on the boat want to shower once a day and use no other services, that's $50/day total. Compare the closest Dockwa-listed marina, Tenants Harbor Boat Yard: $87.50 per day (for our 35-ft boat) includes showers, clean restrooms, trash disposal, water tank fill. And that's for a dock, with helpful staff. Or $30 for a mooring, which includes launch, restrooms, showers, garbage, water. A pity. We've wanted to stay in Port Clyde for a while, and it is a beautiful spot where we had a restful night. But we won't be back.
