We enjoy how peaceful it is on the visitor dock. This time I was confused as I could not find trash cans as i went to shore with my dogs from slip 38. That evening, I noticed some trash cans further away from shore and BBQs were being put out (maybe for a club gathering?). When I took the trash to the head of the dock, I couldn't find the garbage bins so I used a park trash can. The floating heads on the visitor dock were just OK, one needed toilet cleaning, the other was good. Nice to have our moorage covered when we filled up our fuel, as painful as that was!
The Port personnel are so nice and maintain a very clean facility. The only concern I have is that by reserving through dockwa, they were unable to allow me to use the available reciprocal privileges since I had prepaid in full. Lesson learned!
We love Deer Harbor. Staff was awesome and it was busier than ever on our August 8th visit. I was happy to see improved walking trails along the main road as cars no longer slow cruise by. The cafe at the dock was understaffed and looking for help so our simple lunch order took 45 minutes to prepare. Ice cream great as always!!
A very nice facility for guests on the north dock #6 with exception of showers being a long walk away. Be forewarned, on Friday nights in summer they host an outdoor cinema in Boxcar Park adjacent to the dock so you get a loud dose of K-Pop music and movie broadcast until late in the evening. Check their Port calendar for events you might or might not enjoy!
