Very nice … we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Absolutely the best facilities, cleanest bathrooms and OMG theee BEST showers in the Northeast!! Beautiful tiles, modern fixtures, extremely private… Class A all the way. Well, in full disclosure, it could have been a tad better for us, as we requested a slip with a little bit of privacy since we were celebrating our anniversary- ironically we ended up in their least private slip- directly in front of the office, with all the bustling activity, customers waiting to board launches out to moorings or the beautiful schooners offered for daily/sunset cruises (which by the way is a must on any visit to MV!) So bottom line- if you prefer an active style marina experience, this place is the only place to be. If you prefer a more quiet, peaceful experience, then pray you score one of their other slips further away from the tourist activity. I completely recommend this marina as the conveniences are endless… historic Black Dog Tavern right on the wharf waterfront- tons of shops, coffee/bakery and large chain supermarket directly across the street. You are only a 5 minute walk to Vineyard Haven’ s quaint shopping thoroughfare with dozens of “nicer” shops, restaurants and even a family-owned pharmacy. The best part is the fuel dock within a stone’s throw and even a West Marine store a block away! When docking in Vineyard Haven, The Black Dog Wharf is the best by far. Brooke, Morgan and family were gracious hosts, very helpful with docking, etc. The entire operation is warm and friendly. I just wish we had a tad more privacy! Thanks for a memorable vacation! Kevin
Never before in any marina or public marine facility have we been treated so nicely, and cared for so well.. Bob Smith of Fall River Harbormaster was the most accommodating any boater could ask for. The moorings are within a few hundred feet of the beautiful And majestic Battleship Cove, with a free dinghy dock and incredible restaurants only feet away. The Fall River waterfront is fast becoming a boaters oasis... and with Harbormasters like Fall River's it's a no brainer that will be back many more times. We spent the night and unfortunately had dead batteries the next morning- I called the Harbormaster and within minutes he was there to jump us and get us going again. And did so with a smile. Kudos to them for your their unsurpassed service and hospitality.
