Perfect as we chose a mooring and there were plenty of free moorings. Something we learned, however. Reserve your mooring in advance. A buddy boat did not do so and was told on the day of arrival that all mooring bouts were taken. He was directed to a slip instead at greater expense. There were plenty of open moorings leading us to conclude that the strategy is to increase revenue for the marina when folks do not reserve early.
Scott is the best Marina manager! Helped us maneuver our older classic sailboat around the crowded Marina, gave us a courtesy ride to and from the Annapolis Boat Show and helped us out when a nor’easter pinned us for a few days . Scott is the go to guy for boaters in transit. We will be back, if Scott is around.
We have stayed in marinas on three continents on our boat. This was the worst experience to date. I am certain that the staff have a different opinion from ours but this marina is a mess management wise. Their fuel dock staff are pleasant and competent. Their facility staff (showers, etc.) are simply the worst at customer service we have ever experienced. This is the only such review we have ever given a marina so, it could be us, or it could be staff of Bluewater. I am happy to provide my version of their deficiencies if you are interested. Regards, Charles Hall.
The marina staff were very pleasant and attentive. Our slip assignment was perfect for our deep draft sailboat. Cleanest restrooms of almost any marina we have visited. Cloth bath mats are a nice touch. Perhaps more trash cans for garbage on a holiday weekend. We really enjoy visiting Onancock.
