What a great place to dock while on Grand Bahama. Being a small marina, you get to know other boaters and the amenities at the resort are well worth the reasonable price of dockage. The only negative is the weird setup of the bathrooms and shower-Coed with nowhere to change or put your stuff while you shower.
If you want to rent a boat this is the marina to go to; HOWEVER, if you are a transient and have other options, I would stay elsewhere. We arrived with vague directions and no assistance whatsoever. Had to plead for a pump-out and actually hunt down someone to get that accomplished (took 2 days), were treated disrespectfully by office when we politely asked when water would be available in the showers as there was no water at all when I tried to take a shower on Saturday morning. It is obvious they prioritize the portion of the marina that makes the money with little regard for cruising mariners who are seeking a place to stay as they travel.
The Marina and resort are wonderful. The actual conditions in the slip were a little “slappy” with wind and minimal wake from numerous boats passing by. But the amenities and the location are well worth it. Fort Myers Beach is an excellent beach town and this marina is the perfect spot to enjoy all it has to offer.
We were the only boat in the field. Easy to grab pennants and close to dinghy dock for taking the dog ashore. Very easy to register through Dockwa! Came back on our way home. Planned to stay a week and enjoy this wonderful beach town. However, COVID 19 altered all of our plans. We stayed two nights through a storm and it was a comfortable mooring. The dinghy dock is very nice and convenient. We will return for our week once life opens back up.
This is a first class marina. The staff are amazingly hospitable. I felt like I was visiting friends. The facilities are exceptional and the restaurants have great selections and terrific service. I highly recommend staying here if you are heading south on the ICW...or north!
This marina is in a prime location. Easy walk to great restaurants and the boat show. The showers are clean and the grounds very well kept. There is a public beach park adjacent to walk the dog. Friendly and accommodating dock-master. Wonderful marina.
The staff at this yacht club are great. They go above and beyond to ensure you have what you need to make your stay excellent. A beautiful location and nice showers too! A very clean bathhouse!
Beautiful harbor. The mooring was easy to catch and the marina staff and amenities were wonderful! This is definitely a cruising community.
This is a wonderful marina. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It is close to town, and such a lovely town. Their bikes are terrific and the grounds are kept up beautifully. Best marina stay so far and we have stayed in a few more than expected this trip😊
Wonderful location if you are looking for city energy, which we were after the isolation of the N.C. ICW.
