We stayed Friday evening till Monday morning. The slips are tight and closely spaced back to back. We have a 35’ sail boat and it was tight. Dock hands were ever present and helpful. Floating docks moved around a lot with a southwest wind. Electrical hook ups are wide apart and pushed the limit of our 50’ power cord. Saturday night was loud and raucous, which was ok for a bit, but became too much. Most of the overnighters left on Sunday morning and the place was pretty empty. However, on Sunday afternoon all hell broke loose. Every slip filled with drunk power boaters trying to outdo themselves with loud sound systems playing tired classic rock and lousy country music, and loud engines. This was all very unrestricted and I’m sure Portside earns some much needed revenue at this time. Fortunately we had friends to visit, but It was still going on at 6pm or so. Later Sunday night was peaceful. Not that I’m overly protective, but other than staff there was no attempt to social distance. The restroom and shower facilities were terrific. The staff was helpful and courteous, but not very knowledgeable. No one seemed to know if the water on the dock was potable and directed me to the Dock Master. Shouldn’t that be common knowledge? I would probably return during the week, but not the weekend. TE
