Portside Marina is Kelleys Island's finest docking and dining destination. Our family owned and operated marina was recently rebuilt and renovated. Our 115 slips and channel accommodate over 120 boats, up to 70' length and 25' beam. We offer hourly and overnight docking, shower facilities, golf cart and bike rentals. We are located in the heart of downtown Kelleys Island, tucked away down along the waterfront, apart from the hustle and bustle of the street activity. Our friendly staff will help you dock your boat, register for a slip, and settle in for a drink and fine meal. We look forward to your visit.
This is an awesome marina the dock master and his team are AWESOME
We are newer boaters and the staff was super helpful in getting us in and out, very polite. We checked in during a very busy Saturday, facilities were great and great location. The weather turned bad on Sunday, and again, the staff was on their game and did everything they could to make sure we were helped out of the marina with 16-20 knot winds- safely. Highly recommend Portside and plan on staying again.
Dock hands were courteous and very helpful, especially for someone who has never docked at a full marina. Marina has a great layout and it very easy to get into and out of, even in windy conditions. Dock is new and well maintained.
Perfect as always! Thanks Portside!
Very well run marina. Crew was able to handle multiple boys coming in throughout the day. Clean bathrooms, nice docks. Very good first time experience.
Can get a little bumpy at night, but it’s a very nice marina.
The accommodations were excellent. Also, due to bad weather we were unable to leave on our scheduled departure date. The staff were excellent and flexible with this unforeseen change. Would highly recommend Portside Marina to anyone traveling to Kelly's Island.
Great Stay as always. Dockhands and staff very helpful. Music was also great.
This is our second visit to Portside and they didn’t disappoint for a second year in a row. Located right in town, you are in walking distance to many of the main restaurants, etc. on Kelly’s. Great dock hands such as River, got us in and secure on a windy day. We had lunch AND dinner at Dockers that day which is the best waterfront dining on the island, and it’s just a few steps away from from your dock. My wife loves their bathroom/shower rooms which are private, air conditioned, and CLEAN, and so do I! After spending three days at the public docks and bathrooms!showers at PIB, you can a appreciate the obvious difference. Next year, one day at PIB, three days on Kelly’s at Portside.
It always great to stay as Portside. The dock hands are so helpful.
Our favorite place to stay on Lake Erie. Dockers food is great. It is downtown close to everything or rent a cart from Magee Magoos next door to see the Island. Dockmaster Jack and all the guys hustle to safely receive and launch boats (No easy task on weekends). A fun family atmosphere. Private bathrooms with showers are air conditioned. Great people!
Always a great stay on the island. Thank you!!
Dock master and dock hands very helpful as well as the office. Good location in the heart of town yet quiet at the boat slips. Clean bathrooms. We’ll be back!
All the dock hands were extremely courteous and very helpful. Specifically one named Jack. He went above and beyond several times to help us out
It started out and finished off with the most helpful dock hands we have ever had! Jack, the head dock master was on top of it! The office staff and golf cart rental were extremely friendly as well. The docks are floating so it can be rocky at times. This did not bother us though because the staff and location make up for it. The bathrooms are remodeled as of a couple years ago and are by far the best bathrooms out of any marina. ( toilet, shower, sink, counter, all in a private room!)
Best island marina on Lake Erie! Never seen more hustle in a staff, they really know how to get the job done! Definitely will return!
We were there from July 2 thru July 5. As for the marina itself, dockage is a little tight but manageable. Dock hands are great at getting you in. Facilities are first rate and clean, shower rooms are great since remodeled. Staff in general is very nice and helpful. Nice having a good restaurant right there next to the marina. The downsides: maybe it was because of the holiday, but I get tired of multiple boats playing different music at full volume all day long. Marina rules say no loud music after 10:00, but no effort made to enforce it. I wouldn't even mind up to midnite, but a couple boats went till 1:30. Also, marina info. said WIFI available, but there was no WIFI the entire time we were there. Of course, no one was social distancing or wearing masks.
Best place ever! Thank you!
great people and beautiful location!
We stayed Friday evening till Monday morning. The slips are tight and closely spaced back to back. We have a 35’ sail boat and it was tight. Dock hands were ever present and helpful. Floating docks moved around a lot with a southwest wind. Electrical hook ups are wide apart and pushed the limit of our 50’ power cord. Saturday night was loud and raucous, which was ok for a bit, but became too much. Most of the overnighters left on Sunday morning and the place was pretty empty. However, on Sunday afternoon all hell broke loose. Every slip filled with drunk power boaters trying to outdo themselves with loud sound systems playing tired classic rock and lousy country music, and loud engines. This was all very unrestricted and I’m sure Portside earns some much needed revenue at this time. Fortunately we had friends to visit, but It was still going on at 6pm or so. Later Sunday night was peaceful. Not that I’m overly protective, but other than staff there was no attempt to social distance. The restroom and shower facilities were terrific. The staff was helpful and courteous, but not very knowledgeable. No one seemed to know if the water on the dock was potable and directed me to the Dock Master. Shouldn’t that be common knowledge? I would probably return during the week, but not the weekend. TE
Loved where we stayed...close to most everything ....nice private bathroom with shower...just a little more rocking on the sacks than we are use to....other than that a great stay🍺👙☀️👍🏻
Dock hands are tremendous, hardest working guys and gals on the lake. Keeping the Marina clean and ready to go.
Stay was great, crew was great. Would be nice if the docks or fingers were labeled A, B, C, etc. Large enough to read. Was extremely packed and boats waiting to get in and once you get in there is nothing telling you what each section of docking is and they tell you to go to C dock or whatever. Great overall though.
Calm in the marina, nice slips with rubber bumpers, skilled dock hands, clean restrooms. It was awesome for our fishing needs.
Great place to stay. Service was awesome as usual. John
Great marina and venue right in the heart of downtown Kelley's Island. Nice facility overall, and exceptional and very clean shower and other amenities. Great outside dockside restaurant and bar with a good menu. The marina itself is a little tight for docking larger boats, however they have great dock hands available to assist all boats with landing and departing. Very helpful and friendly staff. Check in is amazingly easy. We return often, and have absolutely no complaints.
Outstanding location, service and accommodations!
The weekend was great. Portside Marina is an awesome marina with excellent dock hands and staff. Restrooms/showers are very clean and new.
The staff could not be nicer more helpful. The dock master Jack is the best, hardest working guy,you ever want to meet. Thank you all for being very patient with all of us that are having trouble obeying all the new rules.
We enjoy Portside for many reasons.... Always clean and friendly. Affordable. Perfect location to walk down town. Our dog Frank has many friends there too! Love the newly renovated restrooms/showers. Looking forward to another great season 2020!
Great dock in relation to location to Dockers Restaurant and our football game!
Very clean showers/bathrooms. Excellent dock hands. Great location downtown.
Hard working and helpful dockhands; clean restrooms/showers & and a convenient bar.
We had a great time! Loved the new private baths!
Portside was extremely accommodating, clean and a great location. So excited to book next April for Summer of 2020!
Upon arrival, we experienced a dock completely covered in bird excrement, impossible to find a clean spot on which to step. It appeared all other docks, which were closer to the marina, had been cleaned prior to our arrival. Many of these docks were vacant and appeared available during our two-night stay. We ended up cleaning our own dock. The combination of dirty dock and being on a dock farthest from the marina made for a less than pleasant experience. In the past we had pleasant experiences and enjoyed our stays at Portside Marina, we just wanted to pass this on to hopefully prevent other boaters from such an experience.
Great facilities. Close to everything you’ll need. Very helpful staff.
Had a great time. Watched Jaws on the water. Crew did a good job. Marina showers and restrooms clean. All around great place.
Awesome 5 star Service from dock hands, to the office, restaurant/bar staff, and the owners. Bravo !!
Very nice, two items would turn it into a 5 star experience. First, allow overnight boaters to pay for a cart in advance to have one there. We are already paying more than the average Joe to be there, don't leave us without a cart. The other thing is to turn up the hot water for the shower rooms. I went in the evening, luke warm all the way on hot, I chalked it up to a busy time. I went in the morning at 5am before anyone and got the same result.
Great transient marina with a very helpful and friendly crew!
The docks are nice, good power and centrally located. Clean facilities and helpful staff.
Marina staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. I cannot say the same for Miss Maggy’s (which they own) and you can rent golf carts at a discount with your stay. The woman renting the cart was very rude - the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Had a great meal at the onsite restaurant, Dockers - get the bruschetta. Shower rooms were very clean!
Agreed the marina can be tight in the wind, but I have never been to a better marina. The Dockhands are fantastic at helping you in and out. The office staff, are helpful & the friendliest I have ever come across. Docker's restaurant has the greatest food on the island and the view can't be beat. The new bathrooms are the best on the great Lakes. If you travel you must stop here.
Put me in a dock slip that was almost too narrow...especially on a windy day. Boat rocked all night because of the opening to the marina. The staff was great. Very professional.
Great staff!!! The new jet docks are absolutely the best addition the this marina. Great improvements every time we stay.
Marina is tight (not very much room for maneuvering) for larger boats. We collided due to insufficient room to (not very much damage, most to our boat) - 42 foot sailboat. Another sailboat in our group (mid - 30 foot) contacted the anchor (about head height of a standing crewmember) of a large powerboat. Again, not much damage, but was very dangerous. Also, very uncomfortable with any type of southerly wind. The breakwall is not effective in limiting the wave surge.
