We stayed in the City Marina for one night and really enjoyed it. The harbor house is like a private club and the marina is right in the middle of a beautiful city park. We literally played catch with the kids on the grass 50 ft from our dock. Very nice town with lots to do and see. Kayak or paddle board around the island on the other side of Round Lake -- it's really neat. Terry's Place was a good dinner spot.
The facilities have been updated recently and the new docks are first rate. The town is great for restaurants and shopping. If you have a bike and good legs, there are wonderful bike trails in the area. We stayed in Petoskey for a few days and did day trips to Harbor Springs and Bay Harbor... I think we made the right call on that one.
The staff at Snub Harbor Marina is very friendly and the facilities are very nice. The Marina was happy to lend me a 25' 50A extension so I could bow in and still reach the electric. The town... not so impressed. But maybe we just made a few bad choices with restaurants.
This was the nicest harbor that we stayed at on our July 2014 Northern Michigan adventure. The facilities are all modern and the Harbor master was a friendly as they get with lots of good info about the town and nearby ports. The town was very charming and we had an excellent white tablecloth meal at The Riverside Inn. The picture needs to be updated on Marinas.com.
