The Dodge Island Railroad Bascule Bridge is located on the Intracoastal Waterway in Miami at Mile Marker 1089.4. The bridge has a closed vertical clearance of 22 feet with 90 feet of horizontal clearance in the center span. The bridge is operated from a remote location and closes for approaching rail traffic. The bridge is normally left in the open position otherwise.

Southbound, the approach to the bridge first crosses under the Dodge Island Bridge, which has a fixed vertical clearance of 66 feet. The channel is shallow on both sides, and deeper-draft boats are advised to keep aimed on the center span of both bridges.
The bridge is normally open, but will close for approaching rail traffic.
