About

Introduction:

Marking the end of Jupiter Sound and the beginning of the Jupiter Inlet and Loxahatchee River, the Jupiter Route 707 Bascule Bridge is located at Intracoastal Waterway Mile Marker 1004.1 This bridge has a 25-foot closed vertical clearance with 90 feet of horizontal clearance at the center span. The bridge opens on demand.

Navigating the Bridge:

Currents and heavy boat traffic can make the passage through this bridge a bit tricky at times. Keep an eye on your relative position and forward speed as you approach the bridge, especially if you are traveling with the current.

The bridge can be opened by horn signal (one long, one short) or by hailing the bridge tender on VHF Channel 09. (All bridges in the state of Florida must be hailed on VHF Channel 09.)

Local Notices to Mariners:

Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
