Dataw Island Marina

We have friends in the neighborhood, great place to stay. Very good restaurant at the Marina. Dock hand know what's going on & Dockmaster was very accommodating. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks guys

The staff was very nice and friendly and promptly let us know when our various deliveries arrived from Walmart+ . The showers were super nice and the laundry was free! We loved our stay here.

Excellent staff and very nice facilities. The owner of the marina actually came by to see how his staff were treating us. Kristy and Gary went out of their way sure our boat was safe and secure as we needed to leave it there for an extended time. Great marina!

Small marina with a very long facedock for transients. Easy In/Out. Well maintained wide floating docks. Watched the dolphins hunting. We stayed 2 nights. Reasonable rates considering the 'neighborhood'. Very friendly staff. Amy was so helpful in arranging a golfcart to explore. (Golf carts are owned by the golf club-- $25 for the day. They are designed for clubs so no "flip down" rear seat. It's a two-person cart.) Dataw is a beautiful private island with lovely homes. Golf cart paths everywhere. Morgan River Grille is on premises and the food was very good. A step above the usual marina restaurant fare likely due to support from the local upscale residents. Inside and outside seating on screened deck. Cocktails were excellent. Oysters on half shell. Nice selection of creative appetizers. It was consistently busy but not packed on a Tuesday night, which says good things about the kitchen. It's even open Mondays! There is a cute fenced playground for the kids and dog friendly area for our buddies. Caution: we found out the hard way on our way back from getting provisions that it is a big no-no to take the golf carts off the island (which is gated). We didn't know that and found that driving the cart on 55mph roads with little shoulder was dicey. Wal Mart and public are a hike into Beaufort (at least 7 miles) so you need car/uber to get provisions. No stores on the island that we saw. Purely residential and golfing. Great little marina. Would stay here again.

Outstanding marina, staff and place to visit. Must stop as well at the Morgan River restaurant, fantastic. Bring your bike, ride, walk and enjoy. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.

Nice marina with kids park and restaurant adjacent. Facilities are clean. Docking is done on north facing floating docks. Some rocking with strong N NE winds. Helpful staff

The marina was fine and the dock help was excellent. However, they have no facilities to dispose of dog waste even though it is in a pick-up bag and tied off. Not knowing any better I threw it in their trash container and a guy came out of the office and chewed me a new rear end!!! They actually want you to take it with you on your boat! That is the first time I have ever encountered anything like that and only once did I encounter a situation where they didn’t want it in their normal trash container. In that case there was a separate container.

Great dockhands. We lost power during a storm and he came out and fixed it immediately.

These guys are top notch. They worked us into the repair schedule very nicely and did a great job on the repairs. We also stayed a few nights. Marina staff went out of their way to accommodate us at The docks. Kind of remote for provisioning but makes for a beautiful bike ride around the development. We'll be back

Great marina. My vessel sustained some prop damage and I had to get hauled out. Dataw had me hauled out, repaired, and underway again in just a few hours.

Great docks, individual showers which is appreciated when service dog in tow. Three meals at on site restaurant…all excellent! Great harbor master and staff! Came in during worst tidal current of the day and the staff got me tied up toot sweet

The staff is fantastic. Thank you! We had some issues with trying to play golf but hopefully that will get straightened out down the line. If the golf worked out we would have rated the marina at five stars

Nice folks, great amenities, and they put us on a secure dock to wait out a southerly blow comfortably. The showers at the community center were much cleaner than the ones next to the marina office. Beautiful upscale community with flocks of sea birds and many dolphins. Look for the unusual alligator gar fish that hang out on the surface at night. Pretty sunsets too!

Great spot. Dockhands were amazing. Dock and power are great. A little bit of a walk to shore but the facilities are fine. Free laundry. Did not try the restaurant but the menu looked good.

This is now one of our favorite marinas! The staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating. We also had repair work done by Marine Tech (based right there in the marina) and they fit us in their busy schedule. The area is beautiful and we used the complimentary bikes to explore the island. No grocery store nearby, but we were able to have groceries delivered. Free laundry, clean air-conditioned bathrooms, restaurant on site (we wish we could have tried it). Beautiful sunsets in the evening—from the docks, the long pier ends with trees dripping with Spanish moss and hanging lights. Easy access to long face dock. We will definitely plan to visit again!

The dock staff is wonderful. Restaurant is fantastic and the golf course is superb. Been coming up from Hilton head for the last eight years. We love a day sale up and spend the weekend.

We had a great quiet two night stay at Dataw Island Marina. The dock hands were very helpful and knowledgeable. The Morgan Island Grill was very tasty. Must try their Mahi Mahi! Did not experience any boat traffic passing by at night. Fully Recommend! Will be back for sure! Thanks Y'all!

The harbor master and dock crew provided excellent service. The transient dock is easy to access on incoming and outgoing tides. We had a very good meal at the Morgan River Grill and they have a nice wine selection. To top it off, there’s a full service marine repair facility.

Overnight and haul out. The staff were wonderful and so helpful!

We had just come from another golf course community further south. This is nice (but no comparison) , but we had trouble getting full 50 amp power at the end of the dock to run our air conditioners. Fortunately, we carry a power booster on board so it wasn't an issue. My main complaint is trash cans. There are 2 for the dock up the ramp. A sign on them says "No pet feces". However, there is not another trash can anywhere on the grounds. Really? I picked up my pet waste and walked next door to the Boatyard to dispose of it in their dumpster. A lady yelled at me and said " It is not for public dumping!" I showed her my little bag and she repeated her warning. I walked over to the other dumpster and walked away. Great dog walking, but then what? We won't be back.

Dock hands were extremely helpful and the restaurant was very nice. However pool was over a mile away with no on-site transportation very disappointing.

Wonderful spot slightly off the beaten track. Friendly helpful staff, nice floating docks, great restaurant, clean bathrooms/showers and good place for walking. No provisioning nearby. Will stop here again.

Great stay at Dataw. Much smaller than the old marina, but just as cozy and the view is as beautiful as ever. Great, great restaurant right off the docks. Marina staff was outstanding from the minute we arrived until we left.

Great stop. Excellent crew to help get the boat secured in windy conditions with some current. Quieted down very nicely in the evening for a good sleep. Highlight of this place though is the community and golf course to ride bikes thru, and the Historic Plantation ruins to visit. Very hospitable people. Lack of pool and spotty wifi means it doesn’t warrant 5 stars, but in every other respect a very good stop.

Less than five miles off the ICW. Three helpful dockhands hurried to the gas dock as we approached. Diesel was well priced and we got a 10% BoatUs discount. We thought the slip was a bit pricy for a quick overnight but when we walked around the resort we saw why. Many amenities including a nice restaurant and an indoor pool and hot tub. Beautiful grounds and homes on the golf course. I took lots of nice photos. It would have been nice to stay longer. Downsides were no Wi-fi at the docks and no pump out.

Excellent, communicative docking staff. Nice on shore facilities. Awesome restaurant, but get your reservation in by 4pm!

The island is beautiful. On-site restaurant is excellent. Wifi not available and our power cables barely reached to closest tower. If you're looking for a beautiful spot off the grid this is a must stop.

Great marina for those who like peace and serinity. My husband and I lived here on our 53' trawler for over a year. We found the staff to always be friendly and helpful. The boatyard mechanics are very knowledgeable with both power and sailboats. The restaurant food and atmosphere are outstanding and the island itself is incredibly beautiful.

There is a restaurant open 6 nights a week for dinner and lunch on week-ends.
