We absolutely love sailing into the Mystic Seaport—especially just after Labour Day. The marina recently built additional docks, a very welcome condition. The dockmaster, Greg Zabel, greeted us with warmth, proficiency and enthusiasm. Prior to arrival, he had written several emails with the approach to the marina and suggestions whilst in Mystic. He is always generous with his time—it is evident he loves his job. And being at the Seaport always affords the meeting of fellow very interesting boaters. The Seaport is so peaceful and so well conceived, endowed and restored. Seeing our mast among the old schooner’s masts, especially during sunset, propels an anachronistic feeling and deep connection to the commitment of sailors and seamen. Also, walking the beautiful land, and sidewalks into Mystic Village is both intriguing and aesthetically pleasing. We are always sad when leaving the Mystic Seaport and we adamantly anticipate come back! Thank you, Greg and all of the gracious Seaport Staff! Adding that this year, we stayed at the start of our trip--August 1st, and had an equally magnificent time. Love the team at Mystic. and we also meet such interesting fellow-boaters. A stellar experience and a great way to commence our 5-week New England trip. We shall return to the Seaport in a few weeks. Thank you, Greg and Company!!
