Before booking a mooring with PIYC, we called ahead to ask if a member of our group could leave a car in the parking lot during our sail. We were grateful that they allowed us to leave a car during our stay. We then booked a mooring via dockwa, which was accepted that evening. When we showed up, the club was closed for the evening (closed at 5 pm in the early season). Because it was after 5 pm, we could not locate any members of staff via phone or radio to confirm which mooring we should take. Upon entry to the club, the member of the group who was joining our trip ran into a member of staff who was leaving, who said we could take any mooring in the virtually empty mooring field. The next morning, we were awoken by the shouts of a PIYC staff who was shouting at our boat, asking if there was anyone onboard. He then proceeded to berate us, insisting that we had not made a reservation. He was extremely angry and was not listening to us. The previous year, we had a great stay with the marina next door, Safe Harbor. That is a great alternative option for those looking for more welcoming customer service. This could have been a 5 star stay if communication and customer service had been otherwise.
