Higgins Yacht Yard

Great basic marina walking distance to the center of St. Michaels and most attractions. Decent WiFi. Clean basic showers / rest rooms. Helpful staff. I love the "boat yard" feel and watching boats being worked on. Definitely an old school boat yard that adds to the total experience. I go there every time I sail to St. Michaels.

Higgins is always a nice quiet place to stay in the middle of a great town. Beautiful views of the bay. One of our go to spots in spring and fall.

I recently docked at Higgins Yacht Yard and had a fantastic experience. The facilities are in good condition and very well maintained, with clean bathrooms that make a big difference during a stay. The staff provided outstanding customer service—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Another huge plus is the location; it’s just a short walk to shops, restaurants, and everything you might need. Overall, a top-notch marina that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for convenience, comfort, and great service.

Our first stay at Higgins, and we are pleasantly surprised. The facilities are in nice condition. The dockhand was timely, polite, and professional. We normally stay at the CBMM (requires a membership), but thought we'd try something new. CBMM can be noisy and crowded due to catered events (frequent weddings). Higgins is quiet, very sheltered, and even closer to downtown.

We are fond of Higgins and always stay there when in St. Michaels. It is not the most elegant of marinas, but the location is good and John is a great host.

Very easy and friendly staff

We hit the jackpot staying at Higgins for July 4th holiday weekend! The dock and grounds are as always, clean and well maintained. Setting up our reservation with Brittany was such a pleasure. She makes you feel like you’ve been friends forever! The dock staff did a great job helping us with our dock lines and electric hookup.

St. Michael’s is billed as the best town on the Chesapeake, actually it’s the best town (Beaufort,SC rival) we have visited so far! Higgins Marina was the perfect choice for a five day stay. Easy to dock, helpful and friendly dock hands. Brittney provided excellent communications and made our stay relaxing! Excellent walking opportunities- close to town and many great stores and restaurants. The Maritime marina is a very short walk. Extremely pet friendly. Pump out is by a mobile boat- so once docked you are serviced at your slip. Uber service available for provisioning. Don’t be drawn to fancier marinas- this is a Marina you don’t want to pass up! We are repeat customers for overnighting and for day trips. This is the quiet part of the harbor along with be a no frills marina. The live is right for staying a few hours, days or weeks. The staff is beyond maritime competent and demonstrate Eastern Shore hospitality from the first contact until casting off the last line at the dock. We have stayed at all the other marinas in town and at anchor in the outer harbor, Higgins is our choice amongst all of these choices.

No frills marina, but more reasonably priced than the others and easy access to the museum and town. Bathrooms clean, friendly staff. I would go back if I every came back through.

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and super helpful getting us into our spot at the end of the dock. The bathrooms are clean and well kept. The marina is a very short walk into town. We would definitely stay here again.

Clear directions and great price with Dockwa+. Dockhands friendly and caught lines. Wooden fixed docks with pilings. Very sturdy. 2 private bathrooms/showers. Clean and neat nautical theme with some toiletries provided. Boat yard centrally located to shops and restaurants. Outside seating and tables for gathering.
